Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.

We love Dr. Elsey's litter... my Samson has allergies and as a kitten had issues with other brands. The litter would get stuck in his paws and infect them. We tried several brands until we found Dr. Elsey's. It's been a game changer and I'm a forever fan. Odor control is great, and it's been treating Samson's paws like the little King he is. 10/10.
Our local pet store recently doubled the price of their store brand litter which resulted in us trying to find a new one. Some friends recommended Dr. Elsey’s and I couldn’t be happier. Obviously it’s a clay litter so there’s always dust and remnants everywhere but it doesn’t turn to concrete in the bottom of my litter boxes like others have in the past. My cats prefer scented litter against my wishes but this one is by far one of the best!
Not my favorite kitty litter. I had to mix it with other scented litters. The scent is horrible when it gets wet. Unfortunately I bought 2 bags. I have a litter robot, it works fine but the smell is awful.
If you want your living space to oppressively smell sour and rotten no matter how many times a day you clean the litter box, then this is for you. If you want to be able to sit in any room of your home and breathe, try again.
I tried this based on the reviews saying it was a really good litter. I am SO very unhappy with this stuff! I scoop my litter boxes twice a day and this stuff is just sticky and smelly! Day one it smells! I will absolutely not buy it again!
I have 7 cats. All ranging from 1.5 yrs old to 14. (My 21.5 yr old just passed 2 months ago from kidney disease) so I switched from a wheat litter to this. Honestly I go through spurts where I get annoyed with the litter I'm using and need to change because of various reasons.(smell, something changed in its composition, tracking is uncontrollable, dust, ect.) I am surprised at the lower level of smell. Yes if your box gets overloaded or saturated fast it won't clump as fast and it will be smelly. People need to be more realistic of what your cat does in the box and how everyone expects wonders from their litter. As if it will do everything perfectly and dispose of the mess for you. Over the years I have used nearly every type of litter available. This is not an end all to Be all product. There are many pros and cons for everyone individually based on what you prefer. However for this round of change because the wheat tracked too much I do enjoy a bit less tracking. The smell control is nice. The clumping is very tight when not heavily saturated because the litter is fine. Yes I still have tracking. YESSS I get corners of buildup and mushyness. I have 7 cats!!!! It's bound to happen. They are habitual about where they go in the box. Yes I am sticking to this for a while. Usually 6-8 months. I might even feel frisky and add a good silica crystal to help the excessive mushy areas. I do recommend this litter for someone who don't mind clay litter that does track a bit. The smell control thar I've noticed with my cats is very nice. (it's fine and will get in their paw fur)
I bought Dr Elseys cat litter but unscented bc I wanted to try a smaller bag before I bought the 40lb bag. It was alright so I bought the 40 lb bag because for 20 bucks I thought it was a good deal. The scented cat litter doesn't really smell like anything but clumps very well! Cleaning my 2 cats litter box is really easy to remove their clumps and I will be sticking with this brand.
I am SO disappointed in this litter. It has to be the dustiest litter we’ve ever ordered. I’m also digging for waste that’s stuck to the bottom and sides of the litter box, which we’ve never had a problem with before. This is more affordable, but it’s not worth it. 0/10 do not recommend.
I have 6 cats and 9 litter boxes, so I always have dust, and I always have tracking. Even the litters that say they're 98% or 99% dust free still have a lot of dust. This one is just a little less dusty. If you really want to see how much dust is generated, turn off the room lights and point a flashlight beam into the litter box. Poor the litter in, and you'll see how dusty it is in the flashlight beam of light. I'll probably keep using this litter.
controls odor very well with 3 cats in a small apartment. minimally dusty & doesnt smell gross or sharp. overall a win
