Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling used cat litter, as cat feces may contain Toxoplasma gondii—a parasite that can cause toxoplasmosis. Pregnant or nursing women, as well as children and anyone with a weakened immune system, should avoid handling used cat litter. Always handle litter in a ventilated area to avoid inhalation. Keep contents and packaging out of reach of children and pets. Seek medical help in case of accidental ingestion.
New Users: * Pour Precious Cat Respiratory Relief Silica Litter into a clean litter box, using half as much as you would with a clay-based litter. Top off the Precious Cat Litter with the litter you are using now, mixing as you add. * Give your cat time to get used to the crystal texture. * Once your cat is used to the crystal texture, (about one week), empty the litter box completely into the trash and refill with Precious Cat Litter.
Experienced Users: * Pour one inch of Precious Cat into a clean litter box. * Remove solid waste frequently with a slotted scoop and rake crystals to insure freshness. * While a single litter box filled with Precious Cat Litter can handle multiple cats, the manufacturer recommends if you have more than one cat, you should have more than one litter box. It's healthier for your cats and helps prevent non use. * If crystals become discolored, it's OK. The color doesn't affect the performance.
Additional Instructions
Yes, they works fine in Littermaid boxes.
All clumping litters are made from sodium bentonite, a form of clay. Premium scoopables, like ours use 100% sodium bentonite to maximize clumping ability. Some clumping litters blend cheaper clays with bentonite and will break apart in the litter box.
Our litter is extremely absorbent, immediately absorbing urine and dehydrating feces upon contact. Dr. Elsey’s Litters absorb the moisture quickly, effectively killing the odor.
While other litters use bentonite clays, Dr Elsey’s particle size and texture make the difference. Fine grain litters form thin clumps which easily break down in the litter box, and very large particles are difficult for cats to dig in. Our scoopables have the right texture and particle size to create an ideal paw feel for your cat. We call it “dig-a-bility.”
Cat Attract™ is the answer for problem cats that will not use their litter boxes. It contains a unique herb mixed in with a premium scoopable litter to attract cats to the litter box. Once they are there, the litter’s ideal texture and particle size encourages digging and use. Every bag of Cat Attract™ contains a Dr. Elsey Litterbox Solutions booklet to help your cat come back to its litterbox.
No! DO NOT FLUSH our litters. These litters are designed to form hard clumps. A “flushable” clumping litter is a contradiction. If it dissolves or breaks apart in a toilet, it will break apart in a litter box. A true clumping litter is more convenient for you and better for your cat.
My friend recommended Dr. Elsey's Senior Crystal litter. After using paper pellet litter, I decided to try it. The paper pellet litter was so heavy, it was a chore to handle. My cat likes the crystal and it handles so much better for me. I only change the litter every 2 weeks. Light weight is important because I have to carry the litter box down a flight of stairs to empty and wash. I chose the Stress Protection crystals and this litter is the winner. (This stress protection crystal is a little less dusty than the senior variety.)
1. It’s so unscented that it was not as efficient in trapping sulfuric odor. 2. My cat is leaving dried poopy crumbs that he picked up from the kitty litter box. 3. There are so many crystals outside of the kitty box compared to the other kitty litters we’ve had. 4. The only good part about this kitty litter is that it doesn’t have much of a strong chemical odor. Maybe it’s better for cats with allergies. But I’m never buying again. Nor do I recommend this product.
This product has been in the litter box about 3 days and I can smell urine from another room! I've never had that happen with litter before. When I first used this, I added it to my cat's normal litter, like one does and it seemed to work ok. I cleaned the litter box a couple of days ago and put only this litter in. First sign that something wasn't right was that my cat pooped outside the litter box, something she rarely does. Then today I walked in the room where the litterbox is and I thought my cat had peed on the floor the smell was so strong. I'm going back to her original clumping clay litter.
Introducing w/a 1/2 & 1/2 mixture -- the cat was doing well and it was much better than the clumpy, dusty litter by itself. Hopefully, the cat will adjust to the 100% new when the old litter runs out.
I use this litter for self cleaning litter boxes I have four of them all over the house. It usually does not last as long as they say, but I do have two cats using it non-stop and I prefer it to be nice and fresh so I switch mine every 7 days or so .
I will preface that I dont typciallly use crystal cat litter but really wanted to love this and saw it out until the entire bag was gone. Unfortunately, it was so smelly I couldn't even enter that bathroom anymore. I was scooping and raking the box twice daily and it would even smell right after. I cannot recommend although I do love the other Dr. Elseys clay litter products!
This is the only cat litter my cat will use since being declawed, i would recommend this to any cat lover.
it not super dusty but, it is way to fine. sticks like crazy to the bottom of the litter pan. would not recommend
Definitely helps with the smell compared to other litters. However, it tracks pretty easily and is all over our floor even with our mat to help prevent that.
So we have 3 cats and 2 boxes due to space at the apartment buuutttt they swap boxes anyways even if we had more. We were using pellet litter worked pretty good but horrible clean up so I switched us to Crystal litter. Whelp. With three cats 2 boxes it lasts maybe half a month and we’re set for auto ship every 3 weeks now. I may try and find a new litter but not too sure what to get at this point. Dust is not bad at all and the crystals are soft no paw issues have been found.
