Not a hit with all 5 cats

    By on

They will nibble on it but since I bought it, I haven't had to give them a new bowl of it yet and have just given up. Still on the search for one more healthy food that they don't throw up.

    excellent food

All cats really like it and they are usually picky and suspect with any "healthy" brand. Kibbles are classic X shaped not the "new" tiny balls that never seem to go over well. Was advised to take my hefty cat off all dry food by two Vets and only feed "wet". Made sense to me so I slowly removed this from his diet. Within a week or so he did start to lose weight (ate as much wet as he wanted) and had a lot more energy but something was off. He seemed extra anxious and twitchy and started to develop dandruff/greasy clumpy fur on his back near his tail. He had always been extremely luxurious and soft getting BIG compliments from the Vets on how wonderful his fur was. Put him back on this food and within a couple of days there was an abrupt reversal in his demeanor and coat. I'm still working on his weight but lessening the wet food instead. I've had many cats over a long period of time and have tried just about every food out there. This one really stands out. … more

Still trying to figure this out

I have made a food change, with my cat, he has allergies, and breaks out on his face. I’m trying this hard food, and hope it agrees with Finny.

    Senior Cat Approved

    By on

My 15-year young cat loves her new food. The consistency, smell, and color are different from any food I have previously purchased for her. She also seems to enjoy the crunchy star shape of each piece. Give your cat a chance to experience this holistic cat food. PS: My 4-year old dog thinks the holistic dog food is the cat’s meow of dog foods.

I have 7 cats, 6 indoor and 1 outside. I wanted to find a dry food that will give all the nutrients that my cats needs in a big bag and at the right price. Also made in USA.

    One out Two is OK

I was looking for something different besides Blue Buffalo. One of my cats spits out those Blue Buffalo life bits, so he wasn't getting all the nutritional benefits. I saw Dr. Gary's BEST BREED and liked the healthy ingredients. I gave a 5 lb. bag a try. I have two cats. My female cat eats it sloppily and leaves a lot of kibbles scattered around her dish. Not a surprise. She's easy and sloppy. It's my male cat that is soooo finicky, stubborn, and hard to please. He reluctantly eats Best Breed in the morning as long as I eat my bowl of raw oats next to him on the counter. Yes, one of those kinds of cats. Yes, one of those kinds of cats. He'll lean in to look at my bowl of raw oats and sliced fruit and decide his is better. He eats about half the scoop I give him. After his afternoon nap, I try to coax him to finish his leftovers. He'll nibble down a few kibbles reluctantly. He'll come sit next to me on the sofa and then jump up and run to the kitchen if I get up. I know what he wants. He would rather starve than bite into another kibble of dry food, so I put his leftover kibbles into his sister's dish. I go to the pantry and grab a can of Fancy Feast Medley, and he perks up. I am suddenly his best buddy. He devours it and licks his dish clean as if he hadn't eaten all day. I give him another can, and he devours that until he is satiated. He finishes the rest off later. Dr. Gary's BEST BREED has good, HEALTHY ingredients at a reasonable price. My one cat eats it. My other cat doesn't spit it out. He just won't eat enough to stay healthy. … more
