The small ones are better
By ginaps on Jan 29, 2021
I was gifted Dr. Harvey's Veg-to-Bowl in the smaller chunk of veggies size. I liked it and it agreed with my dog. When time to order another, I chose the larger chunk veggies because I have a big dog. I found them to not re-hydrate well. Then my dog had loose stools with the undigested veggies clearly in them. They re-hydrated better when I simmered them in plenty of water, but I'm not sure if that would make it lose some of its nutrients, so I'm just going to go back to the smaller chunk next time.

It’s good for bigger dog not small dog.
By Excel214 on Dec 25, 2020
I love the products but too big pieces for my 10 lbs dog. Luckily Dr.Harvey’s have small version (orang bag in stead of green bag) so I able to switch it with no problem AND same quality. My 15 years old miniature pincher got diagnosed kidney disease stage ll, I use Canine health mix with veg-to-bowl and now her number in blood lab came back to normal range. I am very happy and impressed the product. I recommend this product for big pup. Shipping so FAST took 2 days and refunded just like 5 minutes.

My Dogs LOVE This Food
By Dianne on Jan 6, 2021
I prepare this food in batches, changing the protein in each batch. My dogs gobble this up in no time. It has helped reduce their itchy skin and they truly seem more energetic. I have 3 small dogs weighing from 8 to 12 lbs. This might be a bit pricey if you have large dogs

Amazing and healthy too!
By RobinS on Oct 29, 2020
I wanted to find a healthy addition to add into my dogs food. A friend mentioned that her vet suggested this as a great source of fiber and a healthy low fat/ no carb addition. My boys go crazy for this! You’d think I was giving them steak! In fact, one of them( they are very well trained) we actually caught counter surfing while the food was rehydrating... he’d never done that before! Adding this to my auto ship for sure. Highly recommend! Also I’m a chef and loved that all of the ingredients are vegetables and no fillers.

Fixed my senior dog's stomach problems!
By Amanda on Aug 7, 2020
I had my dog on kibble and it gave her horrible stomach problems, (Gas, bloody diarrhea) for almost a year on and off and I tried different kinds of kibble and nothing changed. I switched her to veg to bowl and she doesn't have any more stomach problems and finally has firm stool! A little pricey but definitely worth it. My dog is about 35-40 pounds, 11 years old, and the 5 pound bag lasts around a month or so. The only problem I faced is that the instructions tell you to switch up the protein, which didn't agree with my dog's stomach, so the vet told me just to stick with chicken... just a tip for those that are considering buying this product for dogs with tummy issues :)

Best homemade dog meals
By Amira on Aug 8, 2020
I use to buy the pre-made raw food for my doggo. He been on raw since he was 8 weeks, but, I needed a cheaper alternative on feeding him where I have total control of what goes into his food. I discover Dr. Harvey's pre-mix and all I could say is that I never seen my dog so hyped up with food. I mean he been on 100% raw PMR diet for a long time and i would think he enjoys it more than veggies, but every meal he gets so excited. Even before his meal time he will pace around demanding to get his food earlier.

My husky loves this
By 2dogsandacatlady on Aug 13, 2020
(Note this is a long review, pls bear with me) I recently adopted a 7 yr old Samoyed Siberian Husky who is a bottomless pit and overweight. I tried everything to help him lose weight and fill him up. I got his weight down (somewhat) from 90lbs to 86lbs but he was always hungry. I decided to give this a try as an attempt to supplement his meals with something that was low calorie and healthy. My god! I have been amazed. He cleans the bowl. Anyone who has a husky knows they like to whine and cry but with this food, I no longer have the constant whining and crying. Seriously it fills him up and I only give him half of the daily recommended. He gets 2 1/2 scoops with 2 1/2 scoops of water and (Note this is a long review, pls bear with me) I recently adopted a 7 yr old Samoyed Siberian Husky who is a bottomless pit and overweight. Seriously it fills him up and I only give him half of the daily recommended. He gets 2 1/2 scoops with 2 1/2 scoops of water and half a can of Kasiks salmon as his protein or sometimes 4 oz of lean turkey. In addition I put 4 pumps of Eicosaderm in his meal along with a teaspoon of Nordic naturals cod liver oil. The only reason why I’m mentioning the oils is because to make the meal complete you have to add oils. So he gets this for dinner and Natural Balance Fat Dog Weight control for breakfast. My guy loves this stuff and this keeps him full all night and all morning till his lunch time feeding. Thank you so much to Chewy for carrying this product. And thank you to all of the reviews on here. You reviews definitely helped with my decision to purchase this product. Even if he doesn’t continue to lose weight, I’m just grateful to find something that keeps him full. Nothing that I tried before kept him full. I tried Orijen, Victors, Wild Frontier, Kirkland lamb and peas, Gentle Giant Salmon wet food, Blue wilderness grain free tubs Duck stew—-NOTHING kept him full. I added dried cranberries into his food to give him extra fiber. Nothing worked but this—this stuff keeps him full and quiet. No more whining and whimpering for more food. He’s happy and satisfied. And as a doggy mama I am relieved. Thank you Dr. Harvey!! And once again thank you to everyone on here who reviewed this product. … more

Good to add to food too!
By Cstar on Jul 12, 2020
I was searching for something healthy to add to my dogs food. My senior dogs especially that need less protein, but nutrients. One of my dogs in remission from cancer needed a more controlled diet. He is a big golden retriever and lost a bit of weight and has been able to keep some new pounds on and I noticed he eats 3 smaller meals now instead of 2 larger meals. I also adjust the amount of the Veg-to-bowl for his meals and I add it into my other dogs that eat dry food.. it’s been a very good help since I do like to add fresh fruit vegetables that the dog can eat , but keeping fresh fruit and vegetables can be a chore if you don’t use them fast enough, with this Veg-to-bowl it’s very convenient I was searching for something healthy to add to my dogs food. LARGE BREED LOVES IT
By VAILE on Jun 18, 2020
I adopted a 9 year old German Shepard mix who never was excited about meals until I started making his meals from scratch. He had diarrhea often on kibble, no longer. Recently purchased this to help on days I have little time to chop and prep. I love knowing his meals have all the necessary supplements/nutrients and so easy!

New Puppy Doing Great On Veg-to-Bowl
By Elle on Apr 19, 2020
We've been using this for a month now. Our 13 week old puppy loves it. Hard to gauge since she'd probably eat anything. :) Our cat is on a raw diet and I can make a weeks worth of food in 5 minutes and when we got a dog I was looking for this type of commitment for dog food. Unfortunately I'm finding this is not possible but this is pre-mix is about as easy as it comes. We currently cook the protein vs serving raw so that takes some time. I can crock pot a weeks worth of meat and then add the premix and bag up for the freezer. I add the oil and puppy yogurt after thawed when I feed it to her. She transitioned very well off the kibble. Going to try the other Dr. Harvey's pre-mix before I commit to the grain-free but overall super happy. … more
