Description

Help support a calm, relaxed disposition in your dog with Dr. Lyon’s Calming Aid Soft Chews. Bringing the wisdom of nature together with guidance from science, Dr. Lyon’s supplements are formulated to nourish the potential for wellness within your dog. This formula contains melatonin, a naturally occurring hormone your dog’s body already makes, to help promote rest and relaxation without a sedating effect. Vitamin B, or thiamine, along with l-tryptophan, a natural amino acid, work to foster a sense of calm. An infusion of chamomile and tummy-friendly ginger helps round out the formula’s mellow vibe. To help pups keep their cool, give these soft chews in times of potential stressors, which may include traveling, loud noises like thunderstorms, going to the groomers, or when meeting new people and encountering new environments. Since they’re made with naturally irresistible chicken liver, dogs think they’re just getting a mouthwatering reward. Soft and chewy, they’re easy to break up so you can get the right dose for your pup.

Big difference from the last calming supplement I was using

By Annie on Sep 4, 2020

Our trainer recommended a melatonin supplement to aid in our training plan. Originally, I purchased a calming supplement that contained melatonin, which worked a little, but I later learned that there was only 120 micrograms of melatonin per serving, so I switched to these. I have noticed a big difference since switching. Yes, they are much more expensive and they do stink just like cat pee, but they work. I couldn't have found them at a better time either as my dog just started on a new medication that gives her increased anxiety at times. As with other supplements, you can't expect miracle results. Yes and No

By deafbabydane on Sep 15, 2020

I have 2 rescues who are very anxious, with weird quirks. One girl likes these, one does not. Sadly, I don't really notice much difference in their levels of anxiety. Their issues might be more than this product can help.

    Very pleased!

By Rena on Jul 27, 2020

Very pleased with Dr Lyon’s calming chew. I did notice a huge difference in my golden’s anxiety just after one week of use. One downfall, the smell is not pleasant bu it is not a factor to her, she loves them.

    They smell so bad

    By Dozersma1 on Sep 5, 2020

I’ve used other melatonin products but these are awful stinky and my dog won’t eat them. He’s usually not picky.

    Didn’t work for me.

By Roxy on May 25, 2020

These smell atrocious, they legit smell like cat urine. I could overlook the smell of my dog would choke one down, but she refuses. I can’t blame her. I forced one down her throat by sheer cunning and trickery, also via pill pockets, but not sure it was enough to be able to tell if it worked.

    Help for an older dog

By Anndwhit on Apr 11, 2020

This is truly a calming aid! Typically I am not a review writer, but this product really helps. We have a nearly 15 year old Shiba Inu experiencing some sort of night anxiety. After being up many times through the night and with no one getting any rest night after night, the whole household was exhausted. I found this product on Chewy and pressed the buy button! He is sleeping through the night and we are all grateful. Shibas tend to be picky eaters but he takes 2 tablets in some cheese no problem. (Wt 29 lbs). He also is having less night accidents, in fact no night accidents. This is an unexpected unexplained benefit!

    Just what my dogs need!

By Lauren on Mar 6, 2020

I have a 2 year old female Pitbull mix and recently rescued an 8 month old male Pitbull mix. My female went through the normal anxiety and stress of bringing another dog in the house and instigated a few arguments with her new brother. We were advised to get some sort of calming supplement to help take the edge off and keep her more relaxed. For her weight she falls in the category of 3 pills a day, and I have seen a difference just giving her one pill! I actually haven’t tried to give her more than one pill in 24 hours yet because the one pill is perfect so far to settle her down and take the edge off.
