Description

Help protect you pal from fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and flies with the Dr. Mercola Flea and Tick Defense Spray for Dogs & Cats. Expertly blended and balanced with proprietary Brazilian essential oils including lemongrass, cinnamon, sesame and castor oils. Sourced from the Amazon rainforest, these oils safely form a natural repelling barrier for pests to keep your dog and cat protected, indoors or outdoors. Plus, they also nourish your pal’s skin and condition the coat for a natural shine and luster. Because it contains no chemicals or pesticides, it’s even safe to use for puppies and kittens, and around children. Simply spray on your pal’s coat as needed, and even on bedding and grooming tools.

Key Benefits
  • Forms a pest-repelling barrier around your pal with Brazilian essential oils lemongrass, cinnamon, sesame and castor oils.
  • Repels fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and flies safely with no harsh chemicals, pesticides, or DEET.
  • Lemongrass, sesame oil, and vitamin E work to condition coat and nourish skin naturally.
  • 100% natural and safe to use on adult cats and dogs, puppies and kittens, and around children.
  • Non-staining formula can be sprayed directly on a dry coat, over bedding and even on grooming tools.
Precautions

Keep out of reach of children and animals. Not for aquatic use. Avoid inhalation and contract with eyes, nose, and mouth. Sensitivities can occur after using any flea or tick prevention program. If your pet shows signs of irritation, rinse them thoroughly, bathe your pet with mild soap and rinse again. If signs continue, consult a veterinarian immediate. If product gets into a human's or pet's eyes, hold eye open and gently flush with water for several minutes. If repellent gets into a human's eye that is wearing contacts, remove the contact after the first 5 minutes of flushing, then continue to rinse.

Important Information

Fleas rise to the top of your pet's coat as they die, so consider it a triumph if you start seeing more fleas at first, after treating your pet. If you’re still seeing fleas after application, it may be because your pet has picked up new fleas from the environment, which may include other pets, surfaces and outdoor areas. It may take up to 30 days to break the entire flea life cycle. Additionally, you should also treat sources of new fleas (i.e., carpet, yard, etc.) to ensure complete flea control.

Shake well before each use. Please read all directions carefully before application. Spray generously on pet, including legs and stomach. Work into the coat. Depending on your pet, spray may require additional rubbing to get product through their entire coat. Avoid contact with mucus membranes by covering your animal's nose, mouth, and eyes when applying near your animal's head. To apply product to your pet's head, spray solution onto a paper towel and wipe your pet's neck, ears, and face, carefully avoiding eyes and nose. Reapply every 2-3 days or as needed before your animal goes outside. Reapply whenever animal gets thoroughly wet. Safe for daily use if desired. Avoid soaking your animal with the spray. Safe for use on puppies and kittens. Keep cap on bottle when not in use. This spray can also be used on pet's bedding and grooming tools. Good product

    By on

This stuff is great - I love it! No harsh chemicals. The smell takes a little getting used to at first, but I actually like it now. My dog is primarily an inside dog, and I walk her and take her out several times a day. We've had no fleas or ticks all summer.

    If using on kittens

    By on

Please be aware that although this product states it is safe to use on kittens, it is only for kittens age 6 months and older. It does not state that on the label. I contacted the company to ask, because most treatments will give an age and/or weight when referring to use on kittens. Most people would never think 6 months when told something is 'safe for kittens', so 2 star rating for being irresponsible.

    Helps repel ticks

    By on

I used this in addition to flea and tick meds when hiking in the tall grass. It's heavy tick season here and without this spray my pup had 5 ticks. With this spray she only had 2 crawling on her. Guess it works a little.

WORKS!!! And no poison on my animals.

My veterinarian recommended Dr. Mercola's Flea and Tick Defense Spray for use on my six rescue dogs because I am fearful of the widely-used monthly topical and oral pesticides for flea prventative. This stuff works and it is a safe alternative. It smells GREAT - my dogs let me spray it onto their fur without issue. We just returned from camping with the dogs for a week on an island on the eastern coast (month of October - muggy and hot where we were). I applied Dr. Mercola's to their fur every other day. Not only did my dogs stay flea and tick free, mosquitos (which were extremely prevalent) were repelled.
