I bought this collar after finding out the one I used to purchase is no longer available. It works fairly well. Most flies and insects seem to leave my dogs alone. I use these collars primarily for black flies that attack the bejesus out of my dogs ears... to the point that last year I thought they wouldn’t have any fur on them again. After 3 weeks of having them on the dogs ears have almost completely healed and the flies aren’t bothering them near as much.

  • Great Natural alternative

    By on

I have 3 dogs, in the Pocono Mts of PA, tried all the other drug/chemical treatments for ticks. Nothing works my dogs still get ticks, sometimes alive, a lot dead. I use the collar in conjunction with the spot treatment and it works just as well, if not better, than the drug/chemical alternatives. I like the mint smell, and the dogs don't seem to be bothered with it. Much less expensive than frontline, advantix, brevecto & the seresto collar.

  • Safe and Natural Solution

    By on

I would highly recommend this collar. I have 3 dogs and one has a seizure disorder so I can not use certain oral treatments or those with heavy chemicals. To protect her I have to go a more natural route. The heavier smell is needed to mask the co2 mammals exhale and the skin oder mosquitos and others are attracted to. So for me the smell of mint is a very small price to pay to try to protect my baby from heart worms and other.

  • Too Strong of Scent

    By on

I'm sure there collar is effective but I couldn't let my dogs wear them 24/7. The strong mint smell was nice but I know it made them uncomfortable and they wouldn't act themselves. I put them away in baggies and would put them back on if we went to the park. Even then my dog couldnt take the Strong smell so I couldn't use them anymore.

My 3 (sm./med./leg) boys are not acting any better since wearing the collars. We are giving them another week before replacing them. Hopefully, they will work.

The smell is overbearing, had it on for an hour and every room he went in smelt so strongly of mint. Ended up throwing out.

I have SIX Australian shepherds and have not found one tick or flea on them. Yes, they do smell pretty strong when you open them though.

I purchased 2 and each collar was difficult to adjust the size following the initial placement. One broke within a week.
