    Spot On Topical for dogs

    By on

I'm trying hard not to resort to chemicals for a flea product. I have tried one natural brand and now have switched to Spot On Topical . It's going on day 3 and I'm still seeing fleas on my shitzu. Not many now but one is too many isn't it? If the vials were clear you could see where the 1/2 dose was instead of guessing. Hope this starts to work or else I'm going to the chemical unless someone can suggest something else. It's been a month total of vacuuming, laundry and flea combing several times/day.

    Better than chemicals

    By on

I do not use or give my dogs harsh chemicals so this was the alternative to them. Smells great but did leave their fur a bit greasy from the oils! Also got a cat play tower....they LOVE it. I have the greatest video of one of mine doing exactly that. Fast and speedy delivery also!

    Smells funny

Not to happy with this product. It has a smell like alcohol and it stayed wet didn't seem to want to dry. Going back to frontline.

To oily - didn't repel fleas

    By on

it took a week for the grease spot( that migrated from between the shoulders down the spine) to resolve. Sadly it had no effect on the fleas. love the thought of finding a natural product that will work- will keep trying.

Must use the trio of products in order to be effective!

    By on

The mercola herbal collar, the mercola spot on monthly treatment, and the mercola flea and tick (daily) spray work well together to protect our dogs from fleas and ticks from February thru November here in Virginia. None of these products was effective alone for our dogs. The collar and the spot on smell nice and minty. The spray smells very strongly of clove.

    Dog's did NOT like

    By on

Too greasy and smelly. Took a long time to dry. Dogs did not like at all. Plus you can't see how much to put on if your pet needs a half tube.

    Sadly this does not work

    By on

I bought this as an alternative to using Advantix or Nexguard, and was feeling optimistic about the idea of using this natural product. However it was not only greasy and stained my shirt, it also didn't work and my previously healthy puppy now has flea bites on her tummy.

    Works well.

My 12 year old dog had a bout of adrenal cancer this year. Was on chemo for a while and thankfully is now cancer free. I have changed many things, one of which is tick medicine. Will not use the traditional vet prescribed stuff. Have used this product successfully. Nothing is 100%, so I do tick checks daily. P.S. will not do conventional annual shots either due to compromising her immune system.
