  • Spits it out like at a baseball batting cage :(

    By on Top 50 Contributor

like the ingredients , no recalls and larger bag size ... May work for your dogs but... My dog spits it out projectile like he is at a baseball betting cage ! Fed Dr Tims food years ago to different dogs (they passed away old age) but there were some "out of stock issues" and a $20 bag price jump overnight ( rpm formula) I moved on to a 5 star Canadian brand. The Canadian brand changed formulas so I revisited Dr Tims will all paws crossed it would now be better in stock and steadier prices without leaps overnight as in the past. I Like the new foil bag and was hopeful. but dog spitting it out projectile across the floor is not a good sign he will ever eat this food. • Dr Tim's Active vs Kenesis

    By on

I have been feeding Kenesis, but when it was out of stock(no doubt due to breeders like myself finding out about this quality product) I ordered Active as a temporary replacement. My dogs love it. The transition had to be done quickly, rather than over a couple weeks as is usually the case. Very little gastric distress for most of my dogs. After 3 weeks feeding Active, I have to say, I may keep some of my adults on it. For some of the younger dogs, I think it may have a bit too much protein which contributes to soft stools. Overall, both formulas are topnotch...and I am recommending them to all my new puppy owners. Great job Dr. Hunt!

  • Product stale and unpalatable to the dogs

    By on

The Chewy kibble is rock hard and clearly stale. To get the dogs to eat any of it I have to mix regular Purina Sport four to one with the Chewy. One of my Springers is due to whelp in a few days and I wanted the benefit of the advertised ingredients for puppy development but the addition of the Chewy kibble has lessened all of my dogs willingness to eat good amounts. Anecdotally, the pregnant gal was 3rd in the National Open Field trial in December and her pups have all been spoken for with no advertising. I now wish that I had only purchased one bag as a trial and feel like the purchase was a waste and I cannot speak favorably about it.

  • Higher calorie food for active dogs

    By on

We have just started (2 weeks) transitioning our 16 month old black lab to Dr. Tim's Pursuit. So far, so good. She loves it and licks the bowl clean. We decided to give it a try as she is very active and was begging for more food. This formula is a nice in-between food as it has more calories than other high end dry dog foods, but not as many as the formulas for working dogs. We read about Dr. Tim's on Pet Food Advisor and decided to give it a try.

  • Perfect for dogs of all types and ages

    By on

I have three 15 lb terriers of different ages:1 yr, 8yr, 14 yr. They are highly active and hike daily. Dr. Tim's provides the nutrition they need to stay healthy and active. Even though my 14 year old is missing the majority of his teeth, he still manages to eat the small kibble and never turns down a meal. Dog food advisors gives Dr. Tim's a 5 star rating. Thanks Dr. Tim!

  • Product is great

    By on

My dog loves this food! She can't get enough of it. I can see a more positive outcome in her growth. She has gained weight nicely and filled out quickly since eating Dr.Tims food. Her coat is shiny and healthy looking too... Looks great since she is all black.

  • food produces a firm stool

    By on

After trying numerous top brands like Wellness core, Merrick, Acana, Zignature, and the USA version of Orijen, my Labrador was having soft stools. I tried Dr. Tim's per the good reviews, and have found success. Other than this food, the original Canadian formula of Orijen was the only one that produced a firm stool for her. Dr Tim's is so cost effective, and a quality product.

  • Excellent for active dogs

    By on Top 500 Contributor

My dog is a very energetic, 12 month-old rough collie. Although they have a reputation for being couch potatoes, my dog did not get that memo. He is always on the go and always wanting to play. This food gives him the nutrients that he needs to play, play, play!!
