I purchased this tool for my Great Dane...needed a way to file the sharp edges of his nails after I clip them. It works very well, and no issue with battery life as I heard from previous reviews. He was a little scared at first but my son distracted him with a few small bits of hotdog and by the time I purchased this tool for my Great Dane...needed a way to file the sharp edges of his nails after I clip them. It works very well, and no issue with battery life as I heard from previous reviews. He was a little scared at first but my son distracted him with a few small bits of hotdog and by the time we were nearly finished he was fine with it. What would make it better would be to have a finer grit sanding disc. Overall, worth the money … more

Most Helpful Critical Review
Read All 90 Critical ReviewsNot good for skittish animals
By Okay on Feb 6, 2021
Unfortunately I’m not able to use this tool at all because my dog is terrified of it. She is a rescue and is skittish about people grabbing her paws. And the noise set her off almost immediately. I’m sure it would be effective for other animals but I’ve got to switch to clippers.

Amazing Product

Love, love, love this. My doodle has long front nails. This has been the only way I can keep them short.

So much easier to do nails now!
By Tikka on Feb 26, 2021
Forget clippers or hand files; this dremel where it’s at! So much easier to do my dog’s nails now. In fact I give them a little zip zip with the dremel a couple times a week, so she stays used to the process and there’s never much to remove. They just stay neatly short all the time. Great tool!

Great little piece of equipment
By Jennifer on Feb 26, 2021
Fantastic. It Did exactly what I expected in a short amount of time. My GSD pup didn’t like the high setting as it was too loud but the low setting worked just fine for us.

Could use a cage for catching debris
By Fred on Feb 25, 2021
Our dog doesn’t like nails done any way we try but this seems most tolerable for him. Product could use a catcher for filing debris. Might want to use it outside

How did I live with out this...
By BostieMom on Feb 22, 2021
Love using the dremel on my two boys nails...results are much smoother and more precise. Having worried about them getting used to is, my 3 year old did great from the first use and my 1 year old took a little more time (and cookies).

HORRIBLE. DONT DO IT.
By LD31 on Feb 21, 2021
This doesn’t even work a little. As soon as you touch the file to the nail it stops rotating.

Good in theory
By RileysMom on Feb 21, 2021
I’ve been working with Riley slowly to have her accept this but still no success. It’s not too noisy, which is good, but it’s not a slam dunk with nervous dogs. I’m going back to the plain clippers.

Works just fine
By Pitbullmom on Feb 21, 2021
After reading reviews I wasn’t sure if this would work properly, but it does! This is also my first time ever trying to cut a dogs nails on my own so the fact that I managed to shows how easy it was to use. I used mine on a low setting and it still got the job done just fine!
