    Great tool for dog nails

    So let me start off by saying that my dog is horrible for nail trims. When he was a puppy I had no problems trimming his nails myself, however, he is now 7 months and 55 lbs and won't let me near his nails with nail clippers. The last time I had to take him to the vet and it took 2 people just to hold So let me start off by saying that my dog is horrible for nail trims. When he was a puppy I had no problems trimming his nails myself, however, he is now 7 months and 55 lbs and won't let me near his nails with nail clippers. The last time I had to take him to the vet and it took 2 people just to hold him down and we had to put a muzzle on him. They told me that most likely he was going to have to be sedated in the future. This is NOT the experience that I want for either of us! I came home and began to research dremels. As with anything there were good reviews and bad reviews so I finally decided on this dremel. It is lightweight and doesn't have a cord which was a must for me. It has 2 speeds and is fairly quiet on both. I am still working with my dog on getting him used to it so I can't actually say how it does trimming the nails but I think it's going to work out just fine. I'm just taking my time and being very patient getting my dog used to it and having his nails touched. I do like that it came with everything you need to get started. … more

    Loud but works (kinda)

    Pretty loud and startled my dogs to the point where they squirm and try to fight the actual drel, I was able to do maybe 2 nails before they moved away. The noise seemed to be what really drew them off. When I was able to fine their 2 nails it worked out nice and smooth. Nail cutting is a nerve wreaking thing for many dogs so I feel like they need to work on the noise factor. … more
