My dogs nails are really over grown. The vet can only trim the tips leaving them still long. Will this tool make the quick sore if it touches it??
Answer by ChewyOct 02, 2018
If the grinder comes in contact with the quick of the nail it can cause irritation.

Is this strong enough to work with large breed dogs?
Answer by ChewyJun 13, 2018
This nail grinder is suitable for all breed sizes.

Are there any recommended accessories or attachments, or is everything you need in the kit?
Answer by ChewyMar 31, 2020
The Dremel 7300-PT Kit comes with everything you need to get started, so you can start trimming your pet’s nails in minutes.

The sanding piece doesn't fit into the collet. Am I doing something wrong? Do I have to purchase another collet?
Answer by ChewyApr 18, 2018
Four different size collets, to accommodate different shank sizes, are available for your Cordless Rotary Tool. To install a different collet, remove the collet nut and remove the old collet. Insert the unslotted end of the collet in the hole in the end of the tool shaft. Replace collet nut on the shaft. Always use the collet which matches the shank size of the accessory you plan to use. Never force a larger diameter shank into a collet.

Quite and Easy too use.

My dog needed her Nails done. We tried groomers before they didn’t work. So I decided to try to do them myself. My dog has been with me along time so, I figured she would allow me to do. She did and we are still working in them. Because they got so long, that you can only take off a little at a time. We will update a picture later. I recommend this

Dremel for Dogs

this little Dremel came right in handy for my 50lb Malinois & I really like the quality for the price I paid, for around $30 it’s compact, low on noise, wireless/chord free, charges in an hour or so, & works very well. I was able to get my pups front paws done in less than five minutes & what made my day is that with shipping it arrived literally the next day. I would highly recommend this product if you want to avoid weekly trips to the doggo nail salon, I’m telling you it’s just as good as the ones they use in shop.

Used Dremel

Uhhh thought I was paying for a brand new dremel. And what I got was a used one. Opened. With buttons that stick. Love paying full price for a used item >.> jk that sucks. The box it was sent in was taped closed and the spare sanding bands were just lose bouncing around in the box.

We have finally found a trim nail solution!

I have a 10 year old pug - he is pretty good with me cutting his nails but I stress about it and have hit the quick before (he has black nails). This dremel is quiet, and does the job so fast. My suggestion is to get their nails trimmed at vet or groomer and then use this dremel once a week.

only has one speed not two as advertised.

This tool is ok but in the description it states that it is a 2 speed Dremel tool. In reality it is only a single speed Dremel tool. It is quite and works well.

Works Well, but Seems to be Backwards

The grinding action definately works, so be careful. It will heat up your dog's nails quickly, and I use it in little 2 second bursts on a nail. It also seems to rotate in the wrong direction. I have my dogs lay down on their backs whenever I grind their nails. Now, I have to turn my dogs upside down to me, so the grinder rotation works on their nails. There is no way to reverse the rotation on this device. It has taken me awhile to get used to.

Disappointed

What a piece of junk! This thing is loud and it vibrates. Also its not 2 speeds. Should have just used my corded Dremmel. Isnt much louder and its variable speed.

Not what it use to be

I dont know what Dremel changed in this model but ive ordered this one and it works just as bad as the old one i was trying to replace rotating power is weak and the battery doesnt even cleanly slide in dremel piece itself

Turns dogs againt grooming nails.

This is my third dremmel nail grinder, so I know the device well. Here is the big picture. This product arrived with coarse grinding barrel. Actually a five of them. If you want to turn your dog against nail grooming, hook them up with a coarse grinding barrel No wonder so many say that their dogs hate nail grooming! So now my task is to find replacement sanding barrels before I can actually use this device. That will not be easy. So, no, I do not recommend this device as it will arrive with the coarse grinding barrels.

Not so great

I bought this a while back for my old dog who has since passed away. She had black nails and it seemed like I cut the quick, every time I cut her nails. If you have done this, you know how traumatized you and your dog get while trying to stop the bleeding. I thought this tool was the answer for this issue. It seemed alright for the one time that I used it. I recently charged it up to use on my puppy and it would not fully charge. The green light just keeps blinking and never turns to solid green. I believe it has something to do with the contacts on the battery and the charger. I don’t understand it because it was stored away in it’s original box. So now, it’s pretty much useless!
