Instructions

*Rinse the filter thoroughly under cool water before placing into the filter housing. This will remove any loose charcoal dust, which is harmless. A small amount of charcoal dust may shed for the life of the filter. This is normal and not harmful to your pet.

*Remove the flow control cap and spout ring, then unscrew the filter housing cap and insert the filter. Place the filter inside the housing with the tab facing up for easy placement and removal. Replace the filter housing cap to secure the filter in place.

Filters help extend the life of your fountain and pump and should be replaced every 2 to 4 weeks.

    Pretty good

    By on

Our cat actually enjoys drinking from her fountain, even though she was quite used to drinking still water. Very helpful to us when we go on a short overnight / 2 night stay out of town close by - we know that she has water and that we don't have to rely on a neighbor to feed her (we have an auto feeder as well). The filters do have to be replaced every 2 weeks - on one level this makes sense but I did not realize this and may not have invested in this product knowing this ahead of time. Easy to take a part to do so, but one wishes it would last closer to 3-4 weeks. Actually putting back together and taking a part is not hard and there are online tutorials that will walk you through this Our cat actually enjoys drinking from her fountain, even though she was quite used to drinking still water. Actually putting back together and taking a part is not hard and there are online tutorials that will walk you through this on Youtube. We noticed bubbles forming after a few days of rinsing and placing a new filter - either one has to rinse the filter very very thoroughly or just know you have to rinse out the bowl so that the sediment does not have an effect on your cat. Last tip, this size is best for a multi cat household (2 or more) for one cat it's a big luxury. However, I have a lovely cat and I'm happy to be her cat mom, so well worth it in my opinion. … more

    Great savings!

This filter needs to be changed every two weeks and was becoming expensive buying in the store. I found a great price at Chewy and was able to order enough for a few months at a price less than the store for just three.

    Very good filters

    By on

These are very good filters and seem to make the water system last longer between getting black algae/mildew in it. They do more than the white filters dothat go around the pump in the base. If you can only afford to replace one type of filter, these do more and trap more inside them than the white filters. I have 2 very large dogs who get their slobber in the bowl and it suds up. So I still have to rinse out the bowl completely twice a day and add new water, change out the filters once a week, break down the bowl once a week and soak it in a vinegar solution every 1-2 weeks or black algae comes back. Washing the parts in the dishwasher also helps keep the algae away and it gets rid of the vinegar These are very good filters and seem to make the water system last longer between getting black algae/mildew in it. I Recommend these filters

    By on

These filters are helpful in keeping the water in the drinkwell fountains clear and fresh longer than it would be if the fountains were run without them. This is particularly useful in a multiple animal household and in warmer weather. The design of the fountain and the filter renders them easy to change when needed.

    Spend The Extra Change ...

There are similar cartridges on the market not manufactured by Drinkwell available for purchase. They pale in comparison and don't do the job.Get the original and Chewy has the best price for same.

    Great Filters

    By on

These filters are great. They are easy to change out and they do a great job of filtering out particles. I love how easy they slip in and out of the fountain. I also like the fact that you get so many filters that you don't have to keep ordering them all of the time. Job well done.

It catches the cat hair that fall into their water fountain and keeps the water clean for them.

    Finally, a filter

    By on Top 25 Contributor

That actually filters. I've had about 5 different models of fountains because I have several cats and 2 dogs. I've been dubious of how much the previous filters helped the water. The water in the 360 fountains is forced upwards through the filter, actually purifying the water, instead of just sitting in the water. I empty out whatever water is in the bowl in the morning and when it has a hard time flowing again, it's time for a new filter. It gets all built up with gunk and doodle-drool. I'm not sure that a filter lasts for even 2 weeks like the manual stated, so I've subtracted a star.
