    Our Cats Love It

    We have 2 of these - purchased at different times and have owned them for several years for 3 cats. The stainless makes it easy to clean and holds no residual smells like plastic. Nothing is perfect but it is not hard to install, just bulky so we can get lazy in cleaning. We have water spots on the stainless on one of them that we need to scrub out. We do it once a month or so but we need to do it more often. If the water does not drip out, you're probably not maintaining it-been there. The key to anything is keeping the unit clean, changing out the filters and cleaning it regularly. Cats love them- especially if you put a bit of ice in the bowl to keep it cold in the summer. The carbon filter we replace regularly but the foam filter looks like something you can make yourself, or replace once in awhile - but both really make a difference. Always worried about motor noise on these type of products but we're not offended by this - it has a quiet hum. If it gets noisy - it means you need to clean it, change filters, or put more water in the bowl. We have had them for several years now and the noise level has not changed. … more

    I purchased the plastic one about a year ago it broke a plastic piece at the valve or water flow but still worked until a month ago purchased the stainless still thinking it was better. It’s not the steel bowl feels slummy after a couple days plastic clips in it feel slimy too. The motor has suction cups so when you take it apart to clean it everything has to be readjusted and lined up. Too much work wire comes out from bottom of the bowl. I feel like it was poorly designed sorry. … more
