Fountain of Dreams
I had been wanting to order a fountain for a long time. It took my two cats a day or two to get used it (by gradually moving their water bowl next to the fountain and then eventually allowing the water bowl to dry out). Once they got the hang of it, they both seemed to really like it. It has enough space in the bottom for my female cat to skim lick across the top which she enjoys doing and for my male cat to switch sides. It's a nice solid fountain and super quiet. Really recommend it.
Cats won't drink from!
I gave this fountain to my daughter for her two cats. They set it up, and on the plus side, it is quiet and seems to run well; however, neither of her cats will drink from it. She had it up for a couple of months before packing it back up in the box. She bought two other fountains that her cats do seem to drink from. Not sure what they don't like about this one, but the apparently don't dig it.
Filtered water fountain
I am very happy that I purchased this fountain. My mini schnauzer Spirit has kidney failure and needs to drink water. The water is always very fresh and entices her by the movement of the water to drink more. Dehydration is a problem with kidney failure and I have seen a noticeable increase in her water consumption. There used to be a kind of slimy residue in the old water bowl. This one has absolutely no residue. I'm really glad I purchased it.
My cat loves it!
My 3-year-old Siberian cat was suffering from lack of hydration -- she just would't drink water, even though we gave her a fresh bowl every day. After two vet visits, and several scary episodes of dehydration, I purchased this fountain. The first few days she just stared at it suspiciously (she's a bit of a scaredy cat), but we hung in there and now she drinks from it daily and no more problems with dehydration! It's such an enormous relief to see her lapping up water enthusiastically. You do need to change the filter every few weeks and keep it clean, but it's so much easier than trying to force liquids.
Why so many bugs??
I would rate this thing 5 because it's hella quiet, my old cat loves it and looks nice. Not so easy to clean, I get a ton of fruit flies in it. So odd. I even put a trap next to it and no changes. I have to clean it daily. Sad.
do not recommend
gets disgusting with mold and built up saliva in a day or two. the filter system also now leaks charcoal from the filter into the water. a pain to clean and maintain.
I like but not my kitty
I love this bowl. Easy to assemble, well built and love the ceramic over the plastic but my kitty and puppy won't go near it. I am keeping (because I can't afford another) on addition to water bowls they will use because at least it provides water for both of my babies if ever needed.
Got my cats out of my sink
My cats decided my new bathroom was their watering hole because they liked the sinks. Got this to bribe them . They love it and drink more water. I have it on the bathroom floor and my son deemed it our water feature
So much better than the plastic fountains.
It's a tad pricey, but ceramic is sooooo much easier to clean, and much nicer looking. Perfect size for our three cats. No leaks, and the motor is fine so far after the first month. You may have to top it off daily, and if there is any black stuff in the bottom, its harmless charcoal from the filter. It goes away after a day or two, or ensure to rinse the filter well before use.
No more spills!
Benny always put his paws in his water, getting it dirty and sometime tipping it over. A friend said his cat drank from a fountain so I decided to try it. Benny no longer puts his paws in his water and he drinks more, which is better for his health. This fountain does not make noise, is easy to clean and the filters are easy to change. I recommend this fountain for any one with a picky drinker.
