How do i get the 3rd scoop free
Hi , i.ve never used metal scoopers before but was wondering. Does the metal scratch off and get in the litter where it will get stuck on the cats paws. Is it safe for cats ,the metal i mean. Thanks

does this work well with low tracking litter? (larger litter granules)

The slots are precisely 5 millimeters wide. This was based on use testing as well as the standard size slots of many sifting scoops DurAnimals reviewed during product development. Thinner slots cause litter to stay in the scoop longer causing the user to then shake the scoop more vigorously to initiate the sifting action resulting in wrist fatigue. It becomes even more of an issue as the litter becomes soiled. But any wider and slots allow too many clumped bits to get through the slots making for less than satisfactory cleaning.

Nice, but quite large

I will recommend it with caution: I wanted this for the smooth handle. I'm tired of plastic scoops with edges. I intentionally stayed away from scoops marked as extra large, but this is quite large. And since it's solid metal I find it heavy. So I use it by gripping closer to the scoop, to have more control. Kind of defeats the purpose of an ergonomic handle.

LOVE these!

As I have a lot of cats and do rescue, I need a sturdy scoop. These are extremely well made, and last a long time. I have bought 3 over the years, and my husband actually gave me one on my birthday, because he knew it was almost time!

Nice size

This scoop is the perfect size and so sturdy. Having arthritis it’s nice to not have to push so hard to get the litter out. I can usually scoop the whole box after knocking off the good litter

Wirecutter recommended

I replaced my dinky plastic scooper with this large, heavy, sturdy scooper because Wirecutter recommends it. And it's great. I then switched to a larger compostable bag that fits the larger scoop (my previous bags were too narrow at the opening). Very pleased!

Cat box scooper

I love this scooper but they won’t let you pick your color. I probably have six or seven over the years. They ALWAYS send me orange. I don’t like orange. Just got a new one. Yes it was orange. I’m not going to order it again!

gets the job done

This was a nice upgrade from the plastic scoops. Sturdy and can fit a lot! Just wish the holes were a bit bigger, to use this with pine pellet litter

solid scooper

We use a very heavy clumping litter (Dr. Elsey’s) and, while effective, it really sticks to the box. This scooper is so strong and durable. I flip it upside down to scrape and unstick the clumps from the box, and then scoop-side up to easily pick them up. A plastic scoop would bend and break just to think about performing the labor that this one does, but it shows no signs of giving up.

Life Changing

Yes, that sounds extreme but this is an amazing product. It's metal and perfect for scraping the box. It's HUGE and cuts the job in half. Every one should have one.

Cat litter scoop

We are a 5 cat house hold with 4 boxes that get cleaned 3 times a day. This is the 3nd of this scoop we are buying. the first 2 where purchased years ago and just recently broke and now working with the 2nd one this purchase was for back up for when the 2nd one goes, hopefully years from now like the 1st. These scoops are quite large and do the job well.

Durable Litter Box Scoop

My original scoop lasted for over 10 years and this one should also. I wish the space between the slit openings were smaller as it is a tad too big and allows some wet litter to get through. In addition it is quite wide and does not scrape all the litter off the side of the box that is not flat.
