    I love these bags

    By on

The original plastic bags I can not open fast enough, the dogs are pulling on me and ready to go further on their walk before I'm done picking up. I can open these bags right up no struggles. I am very happy with this product.

    frustrating but decent

    By on

Decent bags once open - but impossible to open. Thus hugely frustrating to attempt to use, esp w/a large active dog pulling me around. Another reviewer shared the tip that kept me from throwing the whole lot in the trash. Get your fingers damp (not too wet) and then you can open the bag easily, it’s like magic. Otherwise - good luck to you. I open the bag at my kitchen sink, then take my dog on his walk. Due to this inconvenience, I probably won’t buy these again. Too bad bc they are great otherwise.

Bags are constantly ripping; quality has deteriorated

    By on

I've been buying Earth Rated PoopBags for years to clean up after my cat companion. I love the fact that they're unscented, vegetable-based, and compostable, however, lately they tear so easily, sometimes just by opening them. There is a stark difference between these bags and the bags I used to buy. I'll put litter in the bag only to see it tumble out from the bottom or side because a whole opened up in the bag. It's really not feasible for me to spend more money on bags I keep having to dispose of before I even use them or that don't do what they're intended to do. I'm very disappointed because I don't want to clog the earth with more plastic.

    Ripping, hard to open

    By on

These bags were very hard to open and sometimes shred while coming off the roll. Poop very nearly touched my skin, so I'm switching back to the green earth rated bags.

    Terrible bags!

    By on

This is the second time I’ve ordered these bags. The first time (in June 2019) the bags opened but this batch appears to be glued shut. I don’t know if the manufacturer is at fault or Chewy exposed these bags to moisture or heat and the bags can’t be opened. I’m trying to be “Earth Friendly” but now I’ve got 60 wasted bags.

    will not open

    By on

It's not that they break, but I feel so irritated every time I try to open the bag. I can't open it. At all. After trying and trying and trying, I finally rip the top to peel apart the layers but then I risk tearing the whole bag in half. Also, there is a dusty feel to them, like gloves? The residue feels ick. These are the worst. Don't.

    Easy to open!

    By on

Perhaps strange, but it bugs me when it’s sooo hard or separate the opening of the bag. These come open easy!

    Really Impressed.

For those who were mislead by this company's marketing on their original bags (like myself...) I failed to look into the product more and just assumed the plastic was rated to degrade faster than regular plastic poop bags, but really what their original bags are, are just 100% recycled plastic - while still good, not what I was looking for. With quick research I found that this company actually makes these bags, which are 100% COMPOSTABLE! This is fantastic and way better for the environment. I have only 1 kind of dumb complaint... since they are vegetable based, they are sort of "slippery" - which anyone would know what I mean if you've used compost bags before. Because they are slippery, they are REALLY hard to open sometimes. So I have my impatient dog waiting for me to simply open the bag.. haha. I can't imagine using these in winter because I don't do the cold well, so standing there freezing while trying to open the bag will not happen. Also, they are not colored - so therefore are very see-through. This was not an issue for me, but I know for some it may be. =) … more

They literally fell apart before I got to use them.

    By on

I was really excited to try these, but unfortunately I never got a chance to use them. The first 2 bags ripped at the bottom seal, rendering them useless. The other 3 that I carefully tore to not ruin the bottom quickly ripped like tissue paper as I attempted to open them. I don't know if I got a bad batch of bags, but these definitely aren't "extra strong".
