Feeding Instructions

Adjust amounts accordingly over time. These portions are averages; portions will vary by the age, activity, size, and temperament of your dog. When introducing Earthborn Holistic® to your dog's diet, mix increasing amounts of Earthborn Holistic® with decreasing amounts of the old food over a 1 - week period.

During gestation and lactation, feed 2 - 3 times as much food as recommended in the Daily Feeding Guide for the weight of your Adult dog. Puppies start to eat solid foods at 3 - 4 weeks of age and should have free access to solid food from that time until weaning. You may keep Earthborn Holistic® before your puppy at all times. Most puppies will satisfy their nutritional needs as their appetites dictate. Have clean, fresh water available for your dog at all times.

Transition Instructions

  • On days 1 & 2 of the change, you should have plenty of your pet’s old food left. Fill the bowl with 3 quarters of the old food, and one quarter of Earthborn Holistic®.

  • On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half Earthborn Holistic®.

  • On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters Earthborn Holistic® Food for Pets.

  • In only 7 days, your pet will be on an all-new diet of Earthborn Holistic® Food for Pets!

I read about this product in a post . Gentleman said he was very pleased with the food itself and that his English Bulldog loved it. I immediately wanted to try it, but my dog has either lost his morning appetite or is not loving the food. He will eat it if I leave it and when he becomes hungry enough. I started out mixing with his Zignature brand we had been using. So, i am still not sure this is the food I will continue to purchase. He seems to like other things mixed in with his dry food these days.

  • My dogs love this!

I had to switch to different dog food when the canned dog food I always bought was suddenly out of stock. I did have some concerns about switching brands and at the same time going from wet to dry food. I have a 100 lb hound mix and a 10 lb Shih Tzu, and both dogs love this dog food, and had no stomach or intestinal issues during the transition. Also, I just did the math and discovered that I'll be saving almost $100 per month!!

  • Moses loves it

Coastal Catch is tasty too-the pellets are smaller, better for puppies or small breeds. Plains feast is our dog's fave though. Less "waste", he is full of energy, no skin or GI problems, not a strong smell. Because he loves fish we squirt some of Chewys new house brand salmon oil on it, but he eats willingly without too. Earthborn has never had a recall and is a very green company, too. Try it!

  • So far so good...

    By on

I recently switched my shepherds to Earhborn from Acana. I only feed my dogs grain free foods. I tried Earthborn after thinking my one dog was getting an allergy to the chicken based Acana - not sure if that was the case but at the same time his skin irritations have lessened. At first my dogs were a bit put off by the taste but after a week or so they gobble this up. Their stools are back to firm from the switch and they are seemingly pleased. I like that this is a locally made food and is grain free. The price is very good compared to Acana. So...so far so good.

  • Larger Kibble size is perfect!

    By on

We've been feeding our pup the Puppy Vantage formula, which has very tiny kibble. He turns a year next week, so we bought this formula to begin the transition. Our boy LOVES the larger kibble, as he made a mess dropping the small kibble everywhere. So far we have had no issues transitioning this kibble into his daily diet. He seems to love it!

  • Great Product

    By on

Very pleased with this product. I have used a lot of different foods over the years for several different dogs. We ended up with a dog with multiple allergies including chicken, it was difficult to find a good food without any type of chicken in it. This company has the least amount of recalls, and all three of my dogs have thrived on it.

  • Buffalo Feast

    By on

I have a rough coated collie and 2 shiht-zus. I have been feeding them excellent foods for a long time now. I thought I'd try Earthborn Holistic Great Plains Feast, & all 3 of my dogs have decided this is the best food they've ever eaten with their first bowl. It has a 34% protein & all the other good things you want in food. They love the buffalo taste. The last time I tried buffalo, they didn't care for it, but they love Earthborn Holistic. I wish I'd have bought 2 bags instead of one bag plus a different brand, because they love it so much more. I like that it is holistic, and I'd recommend this food plus Chewy to everyone. I never shop for dog food at any other place than Chewy.

This dry kibble is very similar in texture and size as Orijen. Chewy associates recommend this when I could no longer get Orijen. My pups chow down on this and lick their bowls clean. So far I'm sold and happy to be able my relationship with Chewy. My Lab has food allergies so this is a big winner for all of us GO CHEWY and Earthborn

  • GREAT food Dogs love it!

    By on

I have had my pitty mix Rocky on this for several years and he LOVES it. Got all kinds of good things in in so no worries there! His favorite is the Great Plains Feast. My neighbor who had adopted a picky eater tried it out on her and she loves it too! My local pet store had recommended this product when I was done with EVO (due to recalls) and it's been noting but smiles and wags from my end-or at least the dogs end!. =-) If you have a picky eater I would encourage you to try one of Earthborn varieties. Of course unlike the local pet store chewy.com's price is better! Can't beat that! AND I don't have to lug it from store to car to home. Arrives right at my front door.!

  • So glad I switched

I have two Italian greyhounds, and one is pretty finicky and weird with food (she was a rescue). I tried this based on all the reviews (no recalls, no controversial ingredients, made in the US, great flavor, grain free, etc...) and believe me, it is true what people say, Both dogs love it! I switched them over from Blue Buffalo small breed senior because of all the recalls and negative reviews of their food, and the fact the ingredients are not what they say they are. They enjoy this food a lot more. While the kibble is not quite as tiny, it still is pretty small and the pups gobble it up!
