Questions & Answers

How come some of the bags of food look greasy. I’ve had other bags that don’t look this way and don’t leave an oily residue in the storage bin I put it in. Most recent bags of dry food are oily ?

Are there potatoes in this food?
Answer by ChewyMay 01, 2018
This formula does not contain potatoes.

Are all the ingredients made in USA?
Answer by ChewyJan 30, 2018
Earthborn Holistic sources all ingredients from US suppliers if ingredients are available, grown or produced in the US. All ingredients in Earthborn Holistic dry pet food are grown or produced in the US except for lamb meal which comes from Australia or New Zealand, tapioca which comes from South America, flaxseed which comes from Canada and krill meal which comes from Antarctica. Their products and ingredients are ethoxyquin-free. Their vitamin premixes are formulated, sourced and blended in the United States by a US company in a human grade facility. Certain subparts of the vitamin premixes are only available overseas. Their US supplier assures us that they make every effort to source from reputable non-Chinese vendors. All these ingredients are thoroughly tested and undergo many quality checks to insure safety and that specifications are met. But even with these checks in place, it is difficult if not impossible to say that some subpart of some vitamin ingredient may originate in China. Earthborn feels that it is unethical to claim that even though their vitamins and minerals are formulated, sourced and blended by a US company in the United States that there could not be a trace or subpart of a vitamin that comes from China. The turkey and chicken in the Primitive Natural is sourced from the US. The whitefish meal can come from the Atlantic or Pacific and can be any white fish like cod, pollock, sole, flounder, herring etc. They are wild caught, not farm raised.

TOTAL game changer!!

My lab was having constant yeasty ears before switching. We tried over 6 types of food. I suspected a grain sensitivity and decided to find a food that had grains but no peas. Since switching him to this food I have went from cleaning his ears multiple times a day to only once every 1-2 weeks! I also like that the bag is refillable, which makes it easy to keep fresh. We definitely will be sticking with this food!

Excellent choice for healthy pups!

I have a miniature schnauzer with food allergies so I was looking for food that was well balanced and good for him that contained all he needed for a healthy life. I did a lot of research before I tried this food but he loves it. His coat is now shiny and sleek, his breath is better and his teeth are whiter. He gobbles it up and I couldn't be happier for him. It's worth the price to me for a healthy and happy pup.

Not Good for sensitive skin

This food gave my dog copious amounts of ear build up turning into bilateral ear infections. It's packed with sugars from fruits and he didn't much like it. After I noticed the ear build up, I took him off it immediately. Really tired of these over the counter foods not really being what the claim to advertise. Now, I have to revert back to his prescription food because these over the counter door foods are made with so many fillers and truly do NOT help animals with allergies.

Makes dog vomit

This is what my breeder had been feeding my pup so I decided to keep her on it. Over the past couple of years, we have never had a problem until this recent bag. She has thrown up 5 times since we opened it a few days ago. It was a different size kibble and it was greasier. She doesn’t vomit much so this is new for her. It’s the only change in her life that I can imagine would cause her to be sick.

Not Good Anymore

I used to use this food for years for my German Shepherd, but recently for last 4 or 5 bags the content of the bag looks different. It’s more greasy, darker, smells very bad. My dog doesn’t want to eat it it. I don’t know what changed, but I am very disappointed, because my dog used to love this so much now he he won’t even come close to the food, gets frequent diarrheas, I had to cancel the AutoShip

Sensitive Tummy

I've got two dogs, one has a gut of steel and the other gets the runs anytime she tastes something new. To my surprise she easily swapped from wellness to earthborn without any issue! Both dogs have never shown much interest/appetite for their meals before we got this stuff. I'm surprised they're already ready for a new bag! Went through it quick but so far it's been well worth it

Meadow Feast

My Lab has serious food allergies and so far Meadow Feast is well received. No paw licking yet, her eyes are a bit red but no itching signs.

Meadow Feast

Earthborn Holistic Meadow Feast is the only food I feed my Boxer. He has a very sensitive stomach and after switching to this food, his poops are now formed and only three times a day; no more reflux and rarely scratches. Peas and other legumes caused him problems and was thrilled when Earthborn removed them.
