Earthborn Holistic Primitive Natural can help maintain your dog’s health when combined with exercise, veterinary care, and controlling intake of other food and treats. Use this chart as a guide, adjusting as necessary to maintain optimal weight. Portions will vary according to body condition, age, activity level and environment. When introducing Primitive Natural, mix increasing amounts of Primitive Natural with decreasing amounts of the current food over a 7 - 10 day period. During gestation and lactation, feed 2 to 4 times the portions recommended in the Adult Feeding Guide for the weight of your adult dog. Puppies often begin to eat solid foods at three to four weeks of age and can be fed dry or with warm water (3 parts food to one part water). Offer clean, fresh water at all times. See your veterinarian regularly.

Transition Instructions

On days 1 & 2 of the change, you should have plenty of your pets old food left. Fill the bowl with 3 quarters of the old food, and one quarter of Earthborn Holistic. On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half Earthborn Holistic. On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters Earthborn Holistic Food for Pets. Does this contain U.S. ONLY meat?

Earthborn Holistic sources all ingredients from US suppliers if ingredients are available, grown or produced in the US. All ingredients in Earthborn Holistic dry pet food are grown or produced in the US except for lamb meal which comes from Australia or New Zealand, tapioca which comes from South America, flaxseed which comes from Canada and krill meal which comes from Antarctica. Their products and ingredients are ethoxyquin-free. Their vitamin premixes are formulated, sourced and blended in the United States by a US company in a human grade facility. Certain subparts of the vitamin premixes are only available overseas. Their US supplier assures us that they make every effort to source from reputable non-Chinese vendors. All these ingredients are thoroughly tested and undergo many quality checks to insure safety and that specifications are met. But even with these checks in place, it is difficult if not impossible to say that some subpart of some vitamin ingredient may originate in China. Earthborn feels that it is unethical to claim that even though their vitamins and minerals are formulated, sourced and blended by a US company in the United States that there could not be a trace or subpart of a vitamin that comes from China. The turkey and chicken in the Primitive Natural is sourced from the US. The whitefish meal can come from the Atlantic or Pacific and can be any white fish like cod, pollock, sole, flounder, herring etc. They are wild caught, not farm raised.
