Are any ingredients from China?

Midwestern Pet Foods sources all ingredients from USA suppliers whenever possible. Some examples of ingredients that must be sourced outside the USA are lamb meal from Australia or New Zealand, tapioca from Vietnam and Thailand, flaxseed from Canada and krill meal from Antarctica. Vitamin premixes are formulated, sourced and blended in the USA by a USA company in a human grade facility. All ingredients are thoroughly tested and undergo many quality checks to ensure safety. Even with these checks in place, it is difficult if not impossible to say that some minute subpart of some vitamin ingredient may originate in China. As such, we feel that it is unethical to claim, like some manufacturers do, that even though the vitamins and minerals are formulated, sourced and blended by a USA company in the USA that there could not be a trace or subpart of a vitamin that comes from China. They strive to provide correct, truthful information.

This food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages including growth of large size dogs (70 lbs. or more as an adult).
Does this food contain mercury from the salmon?

The fish used in Earthborn Holistic products are sourced from US coastal waters. They can come from the Atlantic or Pacific oceans. Their fish suppliers assure that they monitor and test the fish from these waters. They keep a close eye on radiation and mercury levels in the waters and fish. So far, samples collected are more than 500 times lower than US government safety limits for drinking water, and well below limits of concern for their fish.
