Transition Instructions

Pets, like people, are all different. Some can handle switching foods easily without any problems. Others with more sensitive stomachs cannot handle change well and experience digestive issues. We recommend taking 7 to 10 days when changing your pets food.

On days 1 & 2 of the change, you should have plenty of your pets old food left. Fill the bowl with 3 quarters of the old food, and one quarter of UNREFINED.

On days 3 & 4, add in another quarter, so you have half old food, half UNREFINED.

On days 5 & 6, mix one quarter old food and 3 quarters UNREFINED.

In only 7 days, your pet will be on an all-new diet of UNREFINED!

    Was hoping for better

My 6 month old corgi pup has lots of allergies and does really well on the EB Venture line so I was really looking forward to seeing how the grain-inclusive line would work for her! I trusted the brand enough to go for the big bag without really trying it which became my mistake. She was immediately attracted to even the unopened bag and gobbled it up quickly and happily once I put it in her feeder (a win)! Keep in mind that if you have a puppy on the smaller side that the kibble pieces are huge compared to their Venture line which caused my pup some issues at first (it also doesn't fit in most of her interactive feeders well), picture attached. She's not allergic to anything on the ingredient list but was having such mushy stools a month into feeding it. They are starting to firm up with added probiotics but this has been one of the longest transition/adjustment periods which is not great if you feed in a rotation. I'd say you have to get the medium bag as a sampler if you have a corgi-sized dog (and don't be me with 15 lbs of opened dog food you're not sure what to do with left). Overall, I'm really glad this product exists as it's such a struggle to find foods that exclude both her protein and grain allergies and also avoid peas/potatoes/legumes. It wasn't for us, but it could be for you! … more

Solid Poop! That's a big win in my household!

    By on

I've been using Earthborn for awhile now but only recently switched to the unrefined Salmon due to allergies. I have 4 german shepherds so needless to say we have A LOT of POOP! Ever since switching to this they have perfect poop which makes my life so much easier. They also love the flavor. It does smell pretty fishy but I'm willing to trade that for happy doggos.

    amazing grain-inclusive-no-chicken option!

    By on

Finally!!! My mini Australian labradoodle Tucker tested to be allergic to certain types of processed chicken. We were also advised by the vet to no longer feed him grain free foods. I had to do tons of research to find grain inclusive foods without chicken in the ingredients and it was nearly impossible - especially foods that puppies can have ! We are beyond happy that Earthborn creates this all-stages option - Tucker loves the taste and no longer has stomach issues. Highly recommend!

    Glad I made the switch.

7 year old rescued German Shepherd adopted 9/4/19. I started him on Victor Hi-Pro and he struggled on that a little bit. Inconsistent bowel movements. Sometimes runny. Sometimes formed but soft. Went through 2 bags hoping he’d adjust, but it wasn’t meant to be. I also suspect a chicken allergy due to his scratching. I’m one 25lb. bag (and 4 4lb. BOGO deal bags) into the smoked salmon flavor of the Unrefined and he’s doing very well with it. He’s still scratching but not nearly as much, and his skin seems to be less flaky too. I’ll be switching it up with the different protein choices too. So far, this new recipe/line from Earthborn has been awesome. Great choice. They love it!

My Great Pyr Parker has skin issues on back. A breeder told me dog manufacturers soak chicken in formaldehyde & Pyrs likely won't tolerate it. This was troubling as I had already searched a year ago to get my collie off otherwise good food but had pea & potato family. This food has neither & all 3 dogs LOVE it!

    Earthborn Holistic Unrefined Salmon

    By on

I am trying to rotate my doxie's dry food, and was happy to run across this new food from earthborn, that has no peas, potatoes, or legumes, and has no canola oil in it. I believe this is very healthy, and it even smells good and fresh when you open the bag, and my Doxie just gobbles it up like candy. Also for the month of Jan. 2020, if you sign up for emails, Earthborn has a special where they will send you a coupon for buy one get one bag of 4lbs of your choice in this new line of food to try. So thanx earthborn, and Chewy.

    Great So Far

    By on

My dogs are allergic to so much stuff and it seems that every time I find a food they aren't allergic to the company goes bankrupt or I can't get it anymore! Finally found an affordable food that my dogs seem to be doing well on. Their hot spots went away, so that is great!

Love this food and this company!

I was feeding the Earthborn Venture which we love but wanted to put grains back into my dogs diet. Decided to try this new line. My girl loves it! After a week on it her allergies seem calm and she is actually even less itchy than she was on the Venture line.

    Good Dog Food

    By on

My dog has food allergies and it was hard to find a type of dog food that did not have any of those ingredients. Then I had to find a place that carried it. I live in a rural area. I did find one local place to just try it out. Chewy is cheaper and auto delivers it. She loves the salmon. I have not tried any of the other two.

    With grains

    By on

I'm glad to see that these companies are making grain inclusive recipes. The rabbit is a great plus for this company. Acana and Taste of The wild also has grain formulas now but just fish, lamb and turkey. I'm considering switching to Earthborn. And glad Chewy sells it.
