Feeding Guidelines Switching from your current food to any new dog food should be a gradual transition over 7 to 10 days to reduce any digestive upsets that occur due to a change in diet. Feed 25% of the new food with 75% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 50% of each food for 2 to 3 days. This should be followed by 75% of the new food with 25% of the current food for 2 to 3 days. After this time, your dog will be 100% on Venture Pet Food.
Feeding Adult Dogs. Follow the feeding guidelines shown below. Remember that food intake should be adjusted upon your dogs body condition, life stage, activity and environmental temperature. Since Venture foods are complete and balanced, additional foods, treats and chews may alter the nutritional balance and calories. Feed with clean water every day. We recommend splitting this amount into two meals. Be sure to take your pets to your local veterinarian for proper health examination.
Gradually transition by adding a small amount of American Journey to your dog's current diet, gradually reducing the amount of the current diet and increasing the amount of American Journey for 7 - 10 days until the transition is complete. For sensitive dogs, we recommend a 10 - 14 day transition.

My dog is allergic to poultry so this food looked perfect, but as soon as I opened the bag, it smelled overwhelmingly of rancid oil. I double-checked the expiration date but it was still well within the time, so I tried giving to my dog but she barely ate any. She is not at all a picky dog so it’s very unlike her to not eat her food. I figured it was spoiled and we just got a bad bag, but the next autoship came and that bag also smelled bad, and again, she wouldn’t eat it. I don’t recommend it.
I am so happy I finally found this food. I have been looking for 3 years for a food that my golden retriever loves to eat and does not cause her to have itchy paws, ear infections and other allergic reactions. I had her allergy tested and she’s allergic to most vegetables and meats. This limited ingredient food and a couple other Venture recipes will work for her. I highly recommend this dog food, especially if they have a pup with food allergies
I would recommend this item, but it looks like the company has stopped making it! I will be ordering up your stock for as long as you have it.
Earthborn Venture Smoked Bison is Jack’s favorite food. He’s allergic to turkey, lamb, peas, grains, oats and egg. This is the only food I can find that does not have any of the foods above and he likes it. I researched it and it’s a really great food so I chose this to feed him for the rest of his life. With him on this quality of food he’s happy and so is his mom !!!
I have fed my husky the Venture Rabbit and Pumpkin. He is super sensitive and allergic to chicken and beef, but I believe the tapioca was upsetting his stomach so I went back to the Unrefined Smoked Salmon with Ancient Grains formula. What I have noticed with the Venture Bison and Unrefined Bison new formulas is that they are using vitamin and minerals premixes in these two formulas. I have read that the premixes are only available through China, so it is something I will call the company about and I want to make sure that they are not planning to incorporate the premixes in their other formulas. I gave this a five star rating because they have so far been an awesome company that offers awesome foods for our pets. I am just uncertain about the premixes.
I love the quality of this food and lower protein content for my growing dane. I've fed earthborn for 10 yrs and will always stand by this brand
My dogs loved Earthborn Unrefined Bison and grains and small breed food so thought to try this. Unfortunately despite mixing it in slowly, it has given both my dogs very loose stool. HAS anyone else noticed this? Sticking with the others.
We haven't had this food yet, but it's listed as a limited ingredient diet, which it is not. This food has beef meal in it. I was really looking forward to this new food, but now I'm really unhappy with Earthborn Holistic for marketing this as a food for dog with allergies AND for putting only bison as the protein on the front of the bag. VERY misleading. If I didn't read the ingredient list and I purchased this for my dog, he would be an itchy, yeasty mess.
