Cleaning: Pump should be cleaned when water flow is visibly reduced. First, unplug the pump’s power cord, then remove the pump from the water (do not use power cord to lift the pump). Carefully and firmly pull the snap-on cover from the pump body. Remove the pre-filter sponge and wash thoroughly in fresh water (a blocked sponge will reduce the pump flow rate and performance). Cleaning frequency will depend upon water condition and use, but it is recommended to inspect the filter every 2-3 months.
Maintenance: The only serviceable parts are the impeller and filter. Remove the impeller assembly by turning the cover counterclockwise to release lock. Firmly pull away from the pump motor. Carefully remove impeller. Wash parts carefully with fresh water. Once you have cleaned the pump, reassemble it in reverse order.

Fantastic pump! Great price!
By Loghome1 on Apr 19, 2020
I bought this pump to replace my pond pump that went bad. This was the exact same pump I’ve had before for over 18 years! Lots of choices how to use it. Different ways to spray the water. Highly recommend, easy to use and great price!

The 396 model can be used for many applications.
By HomeShoppingNetwork on Apr 27, 2019
I bought this one(the 396) because it has 1/4" in and 1/4" out so you can hook up actual plumbing parts to this one and get creative. I'm going to hook it up tonight so we'll see how it does. The reviews I've seen on this model have been excellent so I'm sure it will meet my expectations in flying colors.

Good product; it just wasn't powerful enough to pump the water to the top of our fountain.

Great little pump for the price
By ACSM on Nov 28, 2018
I have a small fish pond and it is working great. The temps have dipped below freezing a night or so and it is still pumping without issue. With our temps swinging from warm to cold all in the same week, I'm glad it is holding up until I can get a deicer. My only complaint is that it doesn't have a long enough tube for the fountain. I had to place it on an over turned plant pot in order to get it near enough to the surface. Maybe it is designed more for aquariums. For that reason I only gave it 4 stars.

FANTASTIC PRODUCT
By BobD on Dec 25, 2018
My wife and I do multiple aquarium water changes on a weekly basis. Before this pump we used 5 gallon buckets and a large plastic bowl to refill (roughly 120 gallons) Now this pump in the bottom of a 32 gallon plastic garbage can saves not only time (2 1\2 hours as opposed to 6+, but saves so much wear and tear on the body (we are both 55 + so it takes longer to recover lol)

Great pump
By SquidyTX on Sep 20, 2018
The pump is very affordable for it's ability. First off, it doesn't have to be submerged, it can also be set up as an inline pump using an inlet hose. This model is pretty powerful for it's size. It can pump water vertically about 6 feet (head height) from the surface at a rate near one gallon a minute. It can really move a lot of water quickly at lower head heights. . . . . I bought it to get water into a 40 gallon aquarium during water changes since a Python no-spill won't work with any of out faucets.
