Can this collar administer a beep to warn dog of bad behavior? Rather than just vibration and shock stimulants ?
Answer by ChewyJan 04, 2018
After 1.2 seconds of tone, the collar will send continuous stimulation for as long as the button is pressed. Release before 1.2 seconds for tone only.

i have very hyper rott. kind confused does the ecollar does it give elect shock at all
Answer by ChewyNov 21, 2017
This innovative training device employs E-Collar’s proprietary low-level, "blunt" electronic stimulation to humanely condition your best friend to obey without the need for high levels of potential harmful corrective stimulus.

What is the average battery life on the Mini Educator?
Answer by ChewyMay 02, 2018
The time between charges can really differ and it depends on how much time the transmitter and receiver spend powered on during the day. If you use the system for about 8 hours a day and power it off after that then you should be able to get 24-36 hours between charges. On the opposite end, some people just use their system when their dog is outside and power it off inside. That kind of usage can keep one charge going for weeks.

Is it safe for the dog to swim while wearing the transmitter and for it to work safetly after?
Answer by ChewyJun 27, 2020
The product is completely waterproof and safe to use in the water.

Love this Collar

We sent our rescue lab to a trainer for 4 weeks, to work out the kinks. They use this e-collar for training. I bought it so I could keep up with the training once she got back home. This collar has been the best collar I've used. I would highly recommend finding a facility that uses this and learn from them. I think the directions that came in the box are hard to understand. There has been a significant positive change in our dog. Her listening and not trying to attack the birds has been amazing. HIGHLY recommend this collar for training.

Works well

highly recommend finding a local trainer to teach you as the manual is confusing. Had a 25 min session where we learned how to program and use the collar. With just a week of training on our own, our dog learned to come even if distracted by squirrels and deer. He now comes even without the collar. I would also recommend buying the collar that has a bungee like adjustment to ensure comfort and good contact. I also love the light that is part of the collar which makes my dog more visible at night

My huma...

My human got this for me because I'm very independent and I don't see why I need to do what he says all the time. He got the comfort attachment because I have a thick double coat. I've seen the number on the yellow thing, it's a '6'. My human tried this on as well and it was like he couldn't even feel it! This helps me understand that when he says 'Ivy here' I need to go to him. Or when we're walking, I should stay at his side and not lunge at rabbits or other dogs. He seems very happy with me and I've only worn it twice!.... Ivy's human here! This is an amazing tool. It is not a 'shock' collar. It is a communication device. It is no different than popping the leash or pushing on a dog's rear to get them to sit. This tool just gives you much more and consistent control. Ivy's working level is between 6-10 out of 100, depending on how many distractions are in our training environment. I can just barely feel it starting at 8. Ivy's recall drastically improved in just one session. The same with her heeling. The prong collars are great, but this is a massive step up. I strongly recommend training with one, especially if you have an independent breed like a Husky.

Works Perfectly

I bought this for my Lab who is 8 months old high energy. I started training on a short leash and when I saw his head move I knew it was at the right setting. I don't leave on him all the time - if he is mis-behaving I put it on and put down to a 10 in the house (chasing cat). When walking I have it set at 30 and he could be so far away I will yell "come and push button" and man he comes a running. So I mainly use it when I am walking off leash - I am sure most people use it to really train - me half trained. Also the light at night is fantastic . I give this product 5 stars.

Good product

I feel the price is way to high but I do really like this product. I purchased this after I went through six or seven different E collars ranging in price from $30-$70 and none of them meeting my needs, expectations, or the dog chewing them up. This one is expensive and I think it should be $50 cheaper because after tax and shipping it comes out to be $190.00 anyways it works great so far and I’ve only had it a day. I watched a few trainers use this same one and it comes highly recommended for stubborn dogs. It’s really not that complicated to use, watch Larry krohn on YouTube he has a video showing you how to set this up. The contact points on this collar is longer than any other collar we have ever had which is perfect because I have a German shepherd and his fur normally keeps other collars from doing their job. It has many different settings and I love that it has a light on the collar and I think even the remote as well so I can see my dogs in the dark. There is no annoying button on the collar to press. You just press the button on the remote to turn the remote on then line up a red dot with the red dot on the collar touch it together and the collar comes on. I have not experienced the annoying auto shut off so I don’t think it does that. I plan to update my review after having it longer than a day but for now it’s a great buy and it’s true you should never go cheap on an e collar UNLESS you have a very low maintenance small dog then your probably okay on getting a cheap collar.

Need professional trainer with this

I signed my pup up for obedience class and this is the unit we’re training with. I find it complicated and the manual is written by techies. I would definitely not use without the assistance of a professional dog trainer. I’m truly amazed by the results!

Greatest purchase of past 2 years

I never write reviews for products. I'm writing this review for two reasons. First, this thing has completely changed our life and our dog's training trajectory. He was truly a wild dog when we got him. He is now exceptionally well trained and we feel comfortable with having him off leash in almost any setting. He comes when we call him, heels when we tell him to, sits even at a distance, etc. And we almost NEVER need to go above an 8-10 (such low shocks that I can't quite detect them on my fingers). Second, they are a really good company. After a little over a year of heavy use (swimming in rivers, wearing it all the time, etc.), the battery on the collar began to fritz out a bit. We called (on a Saturday, mind you!) to ask what we should do and they said that they would send out a replacement battery immediately, along with the tool needed to change it. At no cost. Great product, great company, so glad to have one!

definitely an investment

I was hesitant to invest this much money in a collar for my dog, but let me just say it has been amazing. I had trouble setting it up—my dad read the instructions on setting it up and had no issues, so I think it was a me thing lol. It has really helped my dog be able to run and be much more active outside while being safe. It has been amazing with helping him learn good off leash habits. If you can afford to invest in this I would say go for it.
