Questions & Answers

12 Customer Questions

what are the minimum weight requirements
Answer by ChewyJan 26, 2020
Weighing in at only 1.8 ounces, this Micro Educator collar is light and gentle enough for even the smallest dog with sensitive temperaments. It features a more gentle vibration and tone only modes and 100 level of medical grade static stimulation (similar to a TENS machine).

Does it come with a carrying case?
Answer by ChewyNov 09, 2020
This does not include a carrying case.

Is the collar and remote rechargeable? Or battery operated?
Answer by ChewyMay 25, 2020
This training collar system has rechargeable batteries. The E-Collar is outfitted with Li Polymer batteries which requires specific care to assure longevity. It is best not to let the battery be fully discharged and if it does, recharge immediately or irreversible damage may occur. Keep units away from extreme heat and cold temperatures.

Can you add two collars to the Micro Educator?
Answer by ChewyMar 14, 2020
This educator can be used with 2 collars.

Amazing Product

I recommend this product to anyone who wants to expand their dog’s learning capabilities. The quality and price are both great, BUT I do not recommend using an e-collar if you haven’t done your research or contacted a trainer beforehand. I got the micro educator because my dog is 40lbs and short-haired and responds well to smaller stims (this option has less “power” than the regular mini educator I believe it’s called. Overall great product

Nice but lacking....

I had Bousnic collars before I made this relatively big purchase. Nice collars and well made but lacks a "Pavlovian beep" and a strong toggle. I liked the vibration feature on the Bousnic collars but my dogs barely notice it on the Micro Educator. My six year old East German lines GSD spins at times. Many Shepherds do this despite prolonged exercise. I don't want a static shock for this, just a gentle reminder to stop. A beep or vibration is enough. For the price they should include the beep and an adequate vibration feature.

Worth it - What are you waiting for?

We LOVE our 5 year old, 15 lb Yorkie-Bischon Bear, but his not listening to commands and consistent barking (FedEx, UPS, US Postal, a car, a leaf blowing, a squirrel, a knock, a walker in the neighborhood, other dogs when we go on walks) was out of control! A quick 4 hour professional training session with this collar has done wonders!! Now at home with proper use he comes when called and stays until released (with an ok), his barking stops with the 'Leave It ' command and that same command works for any bad habit we want stopped. It's been 6 weeks and we couldn't be happier. Per the trainer, at about 6 months we should expect commands to work whether the collar is on or not. I highly recommend The collar and getting a professional trainer to get the ball rolling!!

Excellent Product but Should Include more Training Instructions

This is the compact version of this company's other training collars. It is perfect for training my service dog. However, there were no training instructions with the collar. I had to purchase a book from the company to learn how to properly use the collar. The company should include at least basic training information. This is why I did not give it five stars.

Expensive? yes. worth it? hard yes.

Incredibly high quality, no issues with it shutting off like some other brands sometimes have. An order of magnitude more expensive than cheap no name versions you can find online, but it is definitely worth it. Would trust this in a hunting/trail scenario, in addition to routine daily life. Once you get it and hold it, you feel the quality, and there have been no issues at all with functionality. Battery life is solid, as well.

best collar on the market next to Dogtra

Cannot recommend this collar enough. When properly layered into training and introduced correctly this tool can save lives and save relationships with your pup. We worked with our trainer and worked through our dogs anxiety and this helped tremendously! My dog has learned how to navigate this world and not be scared of everything. He had aggression and anxiety issues and other trainers had recommended to euthanize him because he didn’t care about food. I recommend you work with a trainer that is knowledgeable with these systems first before just using it on your dog.

Way better than the cheap ones

I'm not a rich person. I have bought many cheap electronic collars for my dog, but we went ahead and bought this one most recently. It's way better. You have three types of shock for different situations. Simple pulse for normal training, sustained shock for when he's being stubborn, and boost for very intense life-threatening situations. They're all at the single press of a button. The remote is easy to hold and can be operated without looking at it. Cheap collars do not offer this flexibility. Plus, cheap collars have a tendancy to burn the dog's skin, even at low settings. I've not seen one burn from this collar. It has made all the difference with my dog's training. I'll never buy a cheap collar again.
