Instructions

Installation Instructions:

• Check device for damage. • Remove transit protection. • Fix suction cups to double suction cup holder and clip onto heater (not near the heating spiral). • Mount thermostatic heater with double suction cup holder vertically in the aquarium, fixing it in a place where water flow is brisk (filter outlets/vents). • Set temperature. • Plug into electrical outlet. Setting temperature • Turn the temperature selector ring to the desired temperature. • Monitor the aquarium water temperature using an accurate thermometer for at least 24 hours and make any necessary adjustments to compensate for calibration errors. • You should periodically monitor your aquarium water temperature with an accurate thermometer (Red light = heater in operation).

Note: The temperature selector ring should only be used as a guide. Always use an accurate thermometer for water temperature measurement.

Recalibration

If, after a day or two in operation the setting scale does not correspond to the water temperature, refer to the following procedure to recalibrate the heater:

• Switch off the heater and unplug it from the electrical outlet.

• Measure the water temperature with an accurate thermometer.

• Turn indicator arrow (red) point to the measured temperature.

• Set the desired tank temperature with the temperature selector ring (blue).

issues with heating up 150 watt Eheim heater

    By on

I'm not sure if this heater is too small for my tank (Waterbox 50.3) or its just not that good. I have it set to 83 (highest setting) and it only gets to 77.6 tops. Its not even a month old. I am going to save it for a backup and buy a 200 watt of another brand.

    Not accurate

    By on

I am told these are high quality thermometers. I bought 3. They are not heating ronthe set temperature. I have tried to calibrate the temperature and that is not working out either. The temperature set and the actual reading in the tank are always two different values. I would not buy eheim thermometer again.

    Not a reliable heater

    By on

So I came down this morning to my aquarium very warm. This heater was heating still, even above the already too warm temp. So I unplugged it, turned it down, and now it's not working at all. Very disappointed with this product

Hard to adjust to desired temp

    By on

If you need a heater Asap, this is not the one for you. This is the second one I own, and setup is a pain. You need to calibrate and adjust it to your desired temp in a 5 gallon bucket with a thermometer and something to circulate water, or you risk killing the fish in your tank. Out of the box it looks like the temp is set at 77 degrees. Actual temp of the water after mine stabilized was 83 degrees. The True Temp indicator only moves 4 degrees left or right on the 150 watt model, and is hard to move. The Blue temperature dial is just as hard to turn and requires 2 hands to adjust. And once you get it into your Aquarium, expect to have to adjust the blue dial again to reach your target temp. If you need a heater Asap, this is not the one for you. Because once you do have it set to your target temp, it will do a great job at keeping it there within 1 degree. … more

    I Absolutely Love It

    By on

When I originally receive this product is was shattered due to the carelessness of whomever delivered my packages. But after a short phone call and a brief explanation of what happened a new one was sent to me right away. I just set it up in my 60 gallon tank and within just a few hours it has perfectly warmed my tank to 73. I definitely recommend! Also a big thanks to Chewys customer service!!

    Not what I expected

    By on

Bought this for a 20 gallon tank thinking it would be too much and I would just turn it down low. Wrong!!!! Every day I have had it I have had to turn it up more. 3 days & still not to the temp that it is set to. Many degrees off. Don't know if it is defective or if I did something wrong but it just isn't working right.

    Fast Shipping.

Fast shipping. Have not installed this one yet. The heater was purchased as an extra in case I have one to go out. However, I have always purchased quality when I purchased an Eheim.
