Jager Thermostat Aquarium Heater

I bought the 150 watt for my 60 gallon turtle tank. I can tell the difference, but I wish I would have bought the 250 watt instead. It is working well with the tank filled half way, but when I fill it fuller, the difference will be less noticeable. Super easy to install. I like that the suction cups attach to the glass, then the thermometer itself is able to be easily removed seperately from the plastic holders, to adjust the temperature.

Bad heater

I’ve used these heaters for a lot of years, but for some reason, out of the last 6 I bought, 3 of them didn’t work. I’m try to get replacements through the manufacturer

Do not buy

I’ve purchased 4 of these and they all stopped working within 1 year and Eheim doesn’t fulfill their warranty obligations.

the best thermostat I’ve owned

I have 3 of these thermostats, a 50 watt, a 75 watt, and a 100 watt. They were really easy to set up and have never strayed from the temp I set them at. I’ve owned them for over 6 months and never had a problem. I’d highly recommend this if you need the temp to stay at a temp such as 80 degrees for a pet that likes a certain temp.

Good product

My Eheim is doing its job and keeps the temperature at 25 Celsius in a 90 gal. tank. It is fully submersible and that is good. Partly devices submersible encourage lime build up on the outside margins. I have hard water. In my Eheim I noticed a slight discrepancy between the temperature on the dial and the reading on the outside thermometer reads. I adjust the dial on the heater to get the desired temperature: 25 Cel. The outside thermometer(essential) gives a precise reading . This discrepancy does not bother me. In the past I had Tetra and Eheim thermometers and both lasted 2-3 years

Not too impressed

I worked in the pet shop business for years. We always used this brand of heater in our shop display tanks. They always worked great, and lasted a long time. Unfortunately, the one I got appears to be working, but it's not heating the water. I'm bummed.

be careful

Initially, this heater worked great. It kept the fishtank nice and warm, and our fish were doing very well. Then our fish slowly started dying. Our water parameters were good, but we still did a 50% change. Then, the rest of our fish were dead the following day. We deep cleaned the tank and put everything back, and then my husband inspected all of the elements in the tank- the gravel, the decor, the bubblers, the water pump, etc. He noticed that there was a crack in the heater, and water had gotten into it. We are not too sure whether or not this was the cause of our fish suddenly dying, but we're not taking any chances with our next batch of fish.
