I must highlight that this EliteField 3-door collapsible soft sided dog crate is a must have for your puppy or dog. My puppy Jasper loved sleeping in his 'Baby House' as we refer to it. From day one he spent hours playing in it with his toys, napping occasionally as puppies do, to just sitting in it as his place or throne room to watch his world. All the while with full access to enter and exit at his will. As he grew now 2yrs old I decided to buy the next size up for my need for his comfort to have more space though not really essential for his adult size of 16lbs. I donated this first smaller one to a local rescue center. All in all Jasper feels safe and warm comfy and happy while in his Baby House going in coming out at his own discretion. That is the sign of happy content secure lovable pup at any age or breed. I ask him, when I'm leaving him home for a time only when he's unable to accompany me, to go into his baby house and he immediately responds forth into it, that's the only time I zipper it closed. This crate is so well made and durable, attractive. Greatly effective for easily insecure pups to calm down It can be their refuse for comfort and a safe place to call their home cave. I highly recommend this product.
I show dogs and these crates see a LOT of wear. I had to replace one of my crates as I had given it to a friend in need. They are easy to set up and has lots of air flow. The come with a carrying tote which is a big plus. My dogs are not escape artists so they don't roll crates or chew through them, so I can't comment on it. The pad is removable and washable. For the price, you can't beat it.
If it wasn't for the weak zippers, this would be an outstanding crate. 10 lb puppy has been in it 3 times and we discovered she was able to push the back and break thru because zipper did not hold up. Seems a shame but I might need to sew a door shut. Pup loves this crate otherwise.
I got this crate for my dog who gets anxious when left alone. Immediately, she went inside the crate and got comfortable. It's become her haven when alone at home. I leave the door open and give her a treat to chew on while we're away. So far, there have been no problems, only positive results. One note: she is not an aggressive chewer. She's chewed a couple of boxes when we're not home, but that has stopped with the addition of this crate and a chew treat that she only gets when we are leaving her on her own. Very happy with the purchase.
This is a great crate to use when we travel for my toy poodle. He normally sleeps in a larger crate at home so we needed something collapsible for longer trips. He's about 8-9 lbs and we ended up getting the x-small over the small because the small was larger and heavier than what I thought. The x-small still gave my dog plenty of room and fit well in my check-in luggage. It has bars to make it stand upright, which are easy to clip on and off.
This crate replaced an old Elite Field crate that was about 10 years old and was just worn out and faded. Not recommended for dogs that aren't fully crate trained. One thing I'd like to see is the company making replacement shells available. I hate having to throw out good metal frames!
Our dog freaks out when there are fireworks. He goes crazy and crams himself way under the couch. Don't tell the wife because it will just make her head even bigger but she was right...again. She said, get him a house and we can put him in there during fireworks to feel safe. Well we got this nice house and he really loves it, he drags his toys in it just to hang out, so next time there are fireworks we will lock him in there to feel safe. It's really a great shelter, easy set up, comfortable, totally worth the money.
I purchased this crate again after my daughter's dog destroyed my other crate by EliteField. I really liked my other crate. The jury's still out on this one. Unfortunately I didn't realize that this one didn't have the fold down flaps on the sides and back so I'll have to bring something else to cover it with. The poles that you have to insert at the top are pretty tough to get in and the top zipper is a little questionable as to whether it's going to last since it doesn't zip real smoothly. Didn't have any of these problems with first one I purchased with flaps.
My pup absolutely loves her bed she loves to go in it during the day and sleeps in it at night thank you for making something so comfy and easy
The first time I left her for more than an hour I came home to a torn door. If a 7 lb. dog can do this I can't imagine what a larger dog could do. Loved idea but I guess I'll go back to the wire crate.
