Helping us find long-lost relatives!
By 5dogDad on Jan 20, 2021
We have done Embark DNA on our two herder rescues - the breed identifications make sense (and help explain some personality quirks), and show our two dogs are cousins! (Maybe not surprising given they’re from the same town - Roswell NM). We also have made contact with other dog parents (via the “relatives” function in Embark) with related dogs that came through the same rescue. It’s fascinating seeing photos of all these relatives and seeing how different they can look as the various breeds manifest themselves. I’ll do Embark on any other mixed-breeds we adopt in the future.

So Helpful!
By DeJay on Jan 19, 2021
I adopted a shelter dog and only knew that he was a "terrier mix". I suspected there was so much more to this mix and I really wanted to be able to understand my dog's behavioral traits; as well as find out the potential for any possible health issues. Sure enough, when I received the DNA results, I had my "ah ha" moment and it confirmed two of the mixes that I had suspected. The remaining ones were a humorous surprise. Great customer service from Embark as they lead you through every step of the process.

Fast results and a cool dog community
By Jenny on Jan 15, 2021
I was nervous purchasing this because there were so many different brands to choose from and were all quite expensive. After a lot of research I decided to try Embark. I was quite impressed with the packaging and presentation. The directions were very easy to follow and the results came back faster than the anticipated date. I was sure my rescue Hallie was a mixed breed, but the results came back 100% American Pitbull Terrier. I love that they list relatives and give you the option to message and talk to their owners. I found it to be worth the money.

Complex dna, this is the one.
By Jacana on Jan 19, 2021
I used the other one and made the mistake of sending a photo and telling them where my dog was from. A researcher on primitive dogs told me no way could my dog be what they said, there are no Canaans nor Basenjis in southern India. She told me about Embark, from Cornell with global and scientific orientation. I sent the saliva in and received the results: South Asian Village Dog. Google it. A true primitive breed due to natural selection. They also included a wealth of information about this breed.

We love the profile and interactions
By JoJo on Jan 19, 2021
It's great. A good breakdown of what your breed is, and I love the guessing game they create that you can share with friends and family so they are able to guess the mix of breeds and then see the full results once it's over. I would add, they show you connections and relatives as they get their dogs tested. It is a great breakdown of results with interesting metrics. It's fun if nothing else. Great customer service and user interface.

Very accurate test
By FAETH on Jan 7, 2021
I knew she was 50% Bulldog from mom and dad was supposedly a “lab mix” however, I thought she had a St Bernard face and giant paws so we opted to buy a test to find out exactly what this “lab mix” was. We heard Embark was the most accurate test. She turned out to be 13% Brittany and 37% St Bernard and 50% American and English Bulldog. I highly recommend this test. I love also that she has no genetic health issues to be worried about!

DNA test helped so much!
By Amber on Jan 19, 2021
My dog has so many quirks, and we never knew where she got them. After we got the results, we looked up the 4 breeds that she was and we were able to see traits that were typical to those particular dogs. It also gave me insights on possible medical conditions to watch out for. I LOVE that my furry best friend is even better understood.

Fascinating Discovery
By Erin on Jan 19, 2021
We adopted a German Shepard mix and it has been so much fun finding out what her genetics were on the other side. They also have updated her profile once and made it a little more specific to the different breeds. I can not recommend this product enough. The health component was good but she didn’t have anything pop up.

Doggy DNA Test
By MB55 on Jan 14, 2021
Cannot say a lot at this point other than I received it quickly. Thats why only three stars. In my case it took both my husband snd I to administer the test. One to hold dog mouth other to swab. Sent off. Received word it was received and that it will take 2-4 weeks for results. So we wait. Can update after results come in.

Best Doggie DNA test out there!
By Seaarcher17 on Jan 20, 2021
I purchased an Embark DNA test for my rescue dog and the results were received faster than promised and were presented in a fun, easy to understand format. It's nice to see the new additions from time to time of my dog's "canine cousins". Highly recommend!
