Thank you Chewy
By Shay on Mar 27, 2021
I had placed an order a month or so ago on Chewy for some embark canine DNA test which I had not ever received. I originally was extremely upset because It didn’t seem like I was able to get any help from Chewy or from FedEx for not delivering my items or for losing them; all I know is they never showed up at my home. After writing the review I have to say that some wonderful People from Chewy reached out to me several times and did everything they could to make this right including resending the embark DNA test(which anybody that has ever ordered Embark test knows they are quite expensive). They really went out of their way and I can’t think them enough for all of their help with this. awesome way to find out what breed you have
By 214moose on Mar 26, 2021
I rescued my boy Moose in November of 2020. Right off the bat, he appears to be a pitbull/shar-pei mix. He has light wrinkles all over his face and head but mostly looked like a pitbull. This test was very easy to use and the website where you get your results is easy to navigate. After about 2 weeks, I got the result and I was shocked. Moose is American Pitbull Terrier/Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier/Shar-Pei/Rottweiler mix. I purchased the health detection test which wasn’t much more expensive than the regular DNA test. I am very pleased to have these results and the fact that I can email the results to my vet for the best care for Moose is awesome. I will definitely use I rescued my boy Moose in November of 2020. A great DNA test
By Rachael on Mar 29, 2021
This kit is a great DNA test! It was easy to use and they keep you updated throughout the entire process. It also comes with the added bonus of pet health info which is very helpful. I was able to learn that my dog carried a gene for certain drug sensitivities. I was able to pass this info onto his vet. We can now implement this information into future medical treatments should he need them. I was also able to find many of my dogs relatives through this test, which is really cool since he is a rescue and we were unsure of his past.

Embark delivers what they promise.
By Dstott on Mar 26, 2021
I needed to clear my Australian Shepherd for the MDR1 genes, before putting him on Simparica Trio. For a few dollars more than a specific genetic test, Embark also provided information on hundreds of other genetic issues. Knowing he doesn't have the genes for hip dysplasia is certainly a relief. The process was simple, easy, and well explained. The turnaround time was fast. The information is presented in a format very similar to 23 and Me for humans. We even discovered that Ziggy has relatives who share 36% of his genetic material, within our local area.

Mixed Review on this
By Betie on Mar 24, 2021
I am bottle feeding orphaned kittens and have a Snuggle Puppy that I wanted them to sleep with for warmth through the night so ordered a big order of these. First negative is that they don't heat up right away. You have a waiting period. When it does work, it lasts a good long time which is great for keeping them warm through the night. But put one in last night and never did activate and I did everything i could to shake it and activate but no luck. I still have the rest of them to go through. If I have another fail, I probably will not bother to get again. So, basically, when they work, they are great and when they don't it sucks.

Fun to know
By Genny on Mar 28, 2021
Genny’s whole litter was abandoned, but the pups were in perfect shape. It was odd until we got the DNA. One of the parents is pure German shepherd for 3 generations. This seems to confirm our suspicion that a breeder’s female got knocked up! Not cool to abandon them, even to a reputable rescue! When both ears are perked up our girl is all shepherd, when they flop her terrier is showing!

Better than expected results!
By Cricket on Mar 11, 2021
We rescued a small shelter dog in January. She appeared to be a shih-tzu mix. By March we realized she was about to have puppies! She had 4 puppies, we were curious to find out the breeds so we got an Embark breed and health kit. Results showed our dog as 100% shih-tzu. Next we got another test to learn more about the puppies. We used Embark to test one; she is 90% shih-tzu and 10% poodle...a shih-poo! We shared her health results (no problems) with our vet who found all those results fascinating and added the Embark results to her chart. We couldn’t be more pleased with the Embark Breed & Health kit!

Fun and informative
By SJZinSF on Mar 11, 2021
The Embark DNA Test Kit is great. Having your dog’s breed information is helpful for training and health purposes and curiosity!), and the Embark website is amazing. There is a lot of information about breed characteristics and traits, and the site has access to and photos of other families with dogs like yours—both in terms of shared breed makeup and also to genetic relatives. It is a TON of fun to read about your dog’s connections to others. Being connected to Cornell University, Embark’s collection of owner-supplied data also helps further research on dog health, behavior, and genetics.

What a Wonderful Tool!
By LindaDogLover on Mar 14, 2021
Although my husband said “We don’t need a DNA kit to know our dog is a Lab!” I was undeterred and ordered the Embark kit anyway. Our dog was a stray and I really did want to know his breed. The test kit was easy-to-use and the results were super-fast. 100% Labrador Retriever! Plus, they provide additional useful information about your pup and even connect you with possible relatives. Expensive but totally worth it.

Not sure about accuracy!
By Nan2 on Mar 26, 2021
I know that my puppy had been chewing gently on my Shih Tzu ears and I think the he had shih tzu DNA from other dog in his mouth. He has no traits of a shih tzu, yet was determined to be more shih than anything. Not company’s fault. If I could afford I would do again since he has stopped the play with my other dog.
