Bought my kit elsewhere but wanted to leave a review on the product itself. Received my kit pretty quickly, swab was easy, even on my senior dog that will chew anything you put near her mouth. I received continuous emails with updates on the process and the result came very fast. I don’t know why other’s have problems with receiving results, I was pleasantly surprised how fast they came in. It was a shock to find out my dog’s true mix, but what most people don’t understand is the way DNA works. Your dog can look completely different than what you picture from the results, that doesn’t mean it’s wrong. The detailed report gives much more information and after doing lots of research on WHY my dog got those results and the dominant traits with those, it all makes sense. Don’t be shocked and immediately run to saying the results are wrong if you’re holding (what you believe is) a chihuahua or terrier in your hands and it says they’re a poodle mix. It’s all in the genes. Glad I got this for my senior pup! I’ve always wondered.
We were interested in learning the breed mix for our out-of-state rescue pooch, but were puzzled by the results. The report listed all large breeds in addition to a healthy percentage of supermutt, and estimated our dog's weight at 49 lbs. She's actually 28 lbs and is definitely an adult. This discrepancy made us question the other details on the report.
The Embark DNA test results were fascinating. I loved learned about my dog's mix of breeds, and I greatly appreciated their flagging certain potential health issues. The lab processed my dog's sample quickly and had the results sooner than I expected.
They email you saying it will take 1-2 Weeks to analyze the results. After the second week going on the site they say 1-3weeks for results and now that's its been 3 weeks, I emailed them asking for my results they say 1-4weeks. Well what is it? Use another brand if you want to actually get the results
I have not had a chance to use the kit yet I'm hoping to get that done tomorrow. But as far as receiving the product it was arrived on time and it looks like it's good to go as soon as I am ready. I'll keep this and see if I can do a review after I've actually used the product thank you
Wow this is a slow process, wish they would have put the lead times in the description. Be ready to wait about 2 months from the time you mail your dogs spit in till the time that you get your results. If I do another doggy DNA test kit it will be with one of the cheaper brands.
Very smooth process from start to finish. Embark and Chewy are great to work with. Do watch for sales before ordering.
Very clear instructions. Easy to use. Company sends updates on the progress of the swab sent in. Cannot wait for the results.
I am so disappointed that I spent all of this money. The results came back at 100% pure breed Great Pyreneese. My dog has golden eyes, does not have a double coat or the white fluffy fur of a 100% Great Pyr. I wanted to know what was mixed in, and I am pretty sure that this was just a waste. She is NOT 100% anything. How disappointing. Every breed dna description says generic. SAD and feeling swindled
I wasn’t sure what to expect from a DNA reader. But this definitely met my expectations and more. Showed me other dogs like mine. And provided me with a lot of info I found interesting.
