Works to reduce anxiety and crying in my birds

By Birdmom on Mar 24, 2021

I have 6 birds: a dove, a cockatiel, a budgie, a rose breasted cockatoo, and 2 green cheek conures. My cockatoo and GCCs are all over 20 years old now. My GCCS absolutely cannot stand being caged. They never have. They refuse to play with toys and always want to be held all day, which isn't possible. They never have. They refuse to play with toys and always want to be held all day, which isn't possible. One of my conures cries for several minutes to nearly an hour at a time to be held. My other will sometimes join in. My cockatoo has lately been refusing to come out of her cage during her free time. My dove has some aggression issues with his BFF - the budgie. My cockatiel and budgie are fine. No issues there. Out of worry for my GCCS and cockatoo, I bought this powder to add to their food at night because that's when they eat the most food. The very next day after adding this to the GCCS food, they were absolutely quiet. There were only about three times they cried to get out & be held. And those cries lasted only about 5 minutes. Typically, they cry for several minutes right before it's out of cage time. They didn't even do that! I'm absolutely surprised at the difference! My cockatoo still won't come out of her cage. However, it hasn't been that long that she's had this supplement. My dove seems calmer but did have one aggressive outburst last night. If this only works for my GCCS, it will be worth it. I honestly don't mind the crying, but I know the constant stress they feel is not good for them. … more

    Did nothing

By Bigbarry on Apr 9, 2021

I was really hoping this product to work. It didn’t do anything my caique still screams. We’ve tried a lot of techniques they all fail.

so upset... the container was busted open

    By on

The container was busted open when I opened the box. I’m very upset. I wasn’t even able to use it, due to being concerned that it was contaminated.

    This works!

    By on

I have been giving this to my 4-year-old African Grey Congo for about 5 days and have already noticed a HUGE difference. She's doesn't screech anymore and from what I can tell so far, she has stopped mutilating her feathers. She still sings and is super happy. I don't get the sassy, screetchy, loud bird anymore.

My bird isn't completely insane anymore!

    By on

I don't generally write product reviews, but this Avian Calm has taken my neurotic, overly hormonal, anxious CAG and turned him into sweet, playful, conversational, no longer doing his mating dance every waking moment, happy bird. I cannot recommend enough.

    This is helping.

    By on

Our citron cockatoo was making repeated repelling screams. It was so awful my husband wanted to get her into a rescue/re-home situation. This is actually helping! Her screams have decreased by 75%. Her activity is the same but her behavior is much better. We know she will out live us, we also know our time with her will be much more peaceful thanks to this product. This is helped everybody's quality of life.

    Seems to help

    By on

Unfortunately I can’t try them with and without it to know if it really helps but it certainly doesn’t seem to hurt them so I’m hoping it helps - they are both rescues and not really friendly with us - just each other

    Works with daily use!

    By on

This powder will not magically work the next day. Your bird has to ingest is DAILY for it to take effect. I started seeing a difference after a little over 3 weeks. There became less plucking, less stress, less fear.
