Great for our dog with allergies

It is very difficult to find a dog food that is free of legumes, fish, flax and poultry. This is the only food our dog can eat without getting a rash. He loves it. I wish it was more cost effective, but worth it for the comfort and health of our dog.

Essence Ranch Recipe

As far as the great ingredients in this recipe of Essence Ranch Dry Dog food, our dog had severe diarrhea and gas. He absolutely loved the dog food, but it just didn't agree with him. It is a high quality food, but extremely high protein.

Really wanted to love this food, but...

This food checked off a lot of boxes for my dog who has a lot of allergies. I think the ingredients are fantastic, but, unfortunately, it wasn't really a keeper for us. I started feeding this to my dog while she was on antibiotics, so I didn't think much of the loose stool at the time (antibiotics usually cause this symptom for her). However, even several weeks off the antibiotics, she never really regulated. As soon as a switched just partway to a new food, her stool started to improve and she was much less gassy. So now I know it was this food that didn't really sit well with her digestive system. But my dog has always been tricky to feed, so I'll try to donate the food I have left and hope it helps another dog.

Incredible company

Chewy is an amazing company. They deliver promptly and communicate well and if by any chance there would be a small error, which is rare, they let you donate to needy pets vs returning. This has only happened once but I almost cried. Keep it up I cannot say enough great things about you. Gloria.

Didn't make the grade.

This is the 3rd variety of Essence I've purchased for my dogs. This one wasn't quite the hit the others were. I do like the small kibble size of this brand. Guess it's back to the first 2 we tried.

high quality dog food but didn't work out for us

my german shepherd baby sure did love this food but made her extremely gassy (we were still in the process of transitioning) and poop was icky; she usually has a gut of steel. Those 2 things probably would have worked themselves out but then she started itching like crazy. it's unfortunate because I believe this is a super high quality food, just not for us.

Jake LOVES Essence Ranch Recipe

Jake isn't a picky eater, but he gets really excited for meals with Essence Ranch Recipe. Switched to it a while back and am glad I did. Jake's coat seems a little softer and shiner, but the real bonus is he just loves this food.

Not working for my Boxer

I hoped this food would help my Boxer with his itching and licking problems but no such luck and now we have added more problems. We've only had this food for several days but he seems to have no energy since starting this dog food. His poops are so messy and he has more gas than usual for a boxer. It's hard to have him in the house because of the gas. I'm sure this food is a problem for him so now I'm back to looking for something else to help him.

Good quality dog food

Our fur babies have food intolerances , this is one of the few brands that give them a high quality food and not things they can’t have such as no chicken or peas

Picky dogs ate it

Our picky dogs enjoyed this kibble! I'll be buying a bigger bag and I hope to continue to feed it my English Bulldog and Frenchie.
