We've now raised two different large breed puppies (one ended up being a 60-lb mixed breed, the other is a purebred Rottweiler) on Eukanuba large breed puppy food. I know some people turn their noses up at mass market brands, so we faffed about occasionally trying "better" (pricier!) food... but in the end, Eukanuba works with both of their sensitive tummies. They both have glossy, wonderful coats and lots of energy. I took the Rottie into a local canine bakery for some treats, and the owner fawned over her amazing body condition. The mixed breed has grown into an incredibly healthy, athletic gentleman adult dog. "Did you know he can jump a four-foot fence?" asked a dazed staff person at the dog daycare. We do now! In short... if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They both do amazing on Eukanuba, our vets are happy, and we're happy. Would recommend without reservation.
My female had puppies and I am generally fed the Puppy food to mom while nursing. BUT this is the first time I have used Eukanuba puppy food. Mom is pooping HUGE amounts of soft sloppy stool multiple times a day. Which leads me to believe there is a lot of " filler" in this food. I am going to try something else.
I prefer to buy this dog food in 30 lb bags. But Chewy didn't have it in stock, so I had to by 2 15 lb bags for $10 more. The price of a 15 lb bag us just under $50, so it doesn't qualify for free shipping.
Our 4-month-old boxer pup is refusing to eat this. I tried mixing it with canned food and he basically swallowed the pieces whole eating it that way. He loves to throw the pieces in the air and play a game with them but doesn't eat them. I think the problem is the kibble is too large for a puppy. He doesn't have all his adult teeth yet so the pieces are too large and hard to chew. I tried to soften it with water, but it doesn't soften quickly or easily. Going to have to pass on this until he is older. Eukanuba is a good brand, so I'm really bummed it isn't working for our pup right now. We will have to try again once he has all his adult teeth.
Ordered this puppy chow and inadvertently didn't realize that the nugget size is based on the puppy size. Asked for any help in getting the smallest nugget size and was told that I had to order a new bag. I think that meant that no help was forthcoming, not even a discount on the next bag. Not sure if I will order again from Chewy.
Was feeding our Lab Puppy Wellness Complete Large Breed Puppy Food, which he loved. But he had "runnier than soft serve" poops. He had taken a few meds for 6-8 weeks that may have disturbed his gut bacteria. Poops did not improve so we added Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy food. We mix it half and half with the Wellness Complete (we still had three large bags of it!) Mixing these two foods has solved our puppy's issues. He eats both foods with gusto but he is a Lab so that is no surprise.
I have a dalmatian puppy, that has a lot of dietary restrictions because of his breed ( needs low purines so the food can't have organs including liver or yeast in it). Additionally, he is picky and often times just won't eat at all for the day if he doesn't like the food. Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy meets all the criteria ! The ingredients are just what he needs and he actually eats this dog food. So glad we found something that works for him!
not that I think this is bad dog food, because I have fed it to previous animals we have. It is just our Huskey apparently has a very sensitive stomach and keeps throwing this up. Cancel my auto ship
I like the 26% protein and cal, ca, ph levels + good ingredients. Our large breed puppy does well on this food.
Ursa loves this food. Not to say she's particularly picky, but this is what her breeder gave her and this is what she wants. We will stay with Eukanuba & Chewy when she switches to adult food.
