    Great Food

By Goldenmom on Feb 15, 2020

I use this food as a topper for my three golden retrievers. I am amazed that so many people take the grease out of the can and throw it away. Chicken fat is very nutritious for dogs. Maybe small dogs can't handle too much but I have never had an issue with my dogs. They love the food and beg for more. The bones are very soft. I know alot of people are afraid of them but bones are again a wonderful nutritious addition to your dogs diet. The bones are cooked enough to not be a problem. I will continue to use this great quality addition to my athletic dogs who are maintained at proper weight. … more

    Good food, Too greasy.

    By on

My dog loves this food but you could see and smell the clumps of grease and fat in the gravy. I throw away the gravy and water down the chicken thighs a bit so its not so greasy and give it to him with his dry dog food. I give it to him at least once a week so it doesn't give him loose stool. Otherwise, he really loves it.

My dogs are nuts for this!

    By on

It smells and looks terrific. But, the bones scare me. I do crunch them up, which is easy enough to do, but am worried I'll miss one or two and even tho they do crunch pretty easily, I can see how they could get stuck in the throat. Maybe the thing to do, since they adore it, is to pour it into a container, add two or three cans to it, and crunch away. Since this is used to supplement kibbles, one can lasts for both dogs for a full day. When the 2nd meal is coming up, I add hot water to the cold, refrigerated can and stir it around and it's pretty much as great as opening a fresh can. If only Evangers would eliminate the bones, I'd buy this all the time for my German shepherds.

    Too rich for my dogs!

    By on

Decided to try this food because one of my dogs is a diabetic & it claimed to be low in carbohydrates . However ,diabetic dogs often have some form of Pancreatitis, & don't do well with fat .This food , which they loved, had broth & fat in it & gave them both big G.I. problems.

    Real chicken

    By on

The reason for the 3 stars is because of the price. It is expensive but you do get real chicken. Also for the 3 stars is because of the fat/liquid that is on the top of the chicken. Not sure what it is and does have a strange odor but my dogs both love the food. I use it as a topper and my Australian Husky devours his food and my Cocker Mix who is very pickey actually will eat her food.
