Meat-centric cat food

At last. A meat-centric brand of cat food that the kitties like a lot. And I like that it comes in a traditional can format with a pull ring lid; I really don't like the new style of plastic box or cardboard box foods--they are so difficult to open and messy. This is a good, old-fashioned can of cat food. I bought a case of the chicken flavor and the turkey flavor.

Cat Eats Organic but Still Gummy

Pluses: Organic, in BPA-free recyclable can. Comments: First time trying the Chicken (had been eating the Turkey). Cat likes this fine, but it is very gummy--a bit of water is needed to make it less so. If you refrigerate it, it will appear solid. One needs to heat it up (by whatever method) and then add a bit of water to it. If you add water while it is cold and "solid", you likely will end up adding too much water.

The Cats approve

The cats like it. The big test is always if they will eat some cold out of the refrigerator and they do. They don't adore it like the Wellness cans which they devour. But they do eat this without any hesitation and that's a plus in my book. I will buy this again.

Long-time manufacturing defect w/cans

If you see rust on lids & bottom rung of the cans, THROW IT AWAY. My eldest cat has been very sick with constant runs & is on antibiotics as a result of feeding him food that was rotten due to a bad seal. …Rotting smell coming from the cabinet. Took out all cans from the cardboard holder & found rotting juices at the bottom. Rust is on top of some cans, where the can stacked above had been leaking from the bottom. You’ll see rings of rust at the bottom of the cans. You can also see juices leaking out. Checked cans of organic beef left over from a previous case (ordered months before), as cats refused to eat it. These too were leaking at the bottom seal. To clarify, the beef was from a completely different lot from earlier in the year & was beef not chicken. This is a long term issue that has not been fixed. If this too has happened to you, please report this via the FDA recall page. It’s important Evangers be held accountable & resolve this issue before more pets fall ill or die.

Less offensive smell

My cat is very picky. He does, however, love this food. I am vegan so the smell of cat food is incredibly offensive to me. This food smells less offensive than most

Not a creamy pate

Evengers wet cat food products are always a good quality. This product is no different, however it is called a pate but the texture is actually a bit grainy. I am having trouble getting my picky cats to eat it because they are true pate lovers.

Great cat food

The homeless cat we feed really likes this food. I have tried other ones but he likes this the best.
