    Quality food for the doggies

By Regina on Oct 17, 2021

Our two dogs love the food, especially the broth! It is quality food and I am glad I took a chance and tried it. Or perhaps I should say the doggies tried it.

My dog wont eat anything else. Hank loves the Evanger's Signature Stews - his favorite is the chicken, but he will also chomp on the beef and turkey. Hanky is Happy

Soupy rubbery chunks that look like bricks!

By Sharkey on Aug 14, 2020

This is, by far, the worst canned dog food I’ve ever purchased. I have not bought canned food for about 6 months. I chose to make homemade soft food for my German Shepherd, Ramsay, who was on a special diet for his degenerative myelopathy. We have since lost our beloved Ramsay in June 2020. My other 2 dogs, Daisy- a husky mix, & Sulley- a German Shepherd, were also enjoying the homemade food of chicken breasts, bison, veggies & supplements. It’s a lot of work and I wanted to get them used to canned dog food again. Daisy eats Victor Senior dry food which is excellent for her sensitive stomach & Sulley is on large breed Nutro Ultra. I care about what my dogs eat and researched Evanger’s on This is, by far, the worst canned dog food I’ve ever purchased. I have not bought canned food for about 6 months. I care about what my dogs eat and researched Evanger’s on Dog Food Advisor. In the past, Daisy did fine with Evanger’s chicken & rice. I saw this Evanger’s canned food on sale - the slow cooker chicken stew, and thought I’d give it a try. I received my shipment last night. This morning I opened up the can, but I noticed it had a watery sound to it before I opened it. Inside, I found large, reddish chunks that were rubbery in texture, when I tried to cut it with a fork. They were in a watery, like really watery - not gravy like - soupy mixture. The inside contents looked nothing like the pic on the outside can. My dog Sulley took a whiff and walked away. I threw it out. Honestly, I have never bought a more disgusting can of dog food in my life. What’s worse is that this food normally costs $40 case! I paid $27.78! This food is more on par with some cheap grocery store brand that I would never feed to my dogs. I am so disappointed. I can’t believe this food is even sold when it’s not what is shown on the outside can and looks inedible. I feel sorry for the dogs that are forced to eat it. I normally make regular donations to the SPCA & the Humane Society. If I decide to donate this rubbery “food” I’ll warn the staff so they aren’t surprised when they open the can. For now, I’ll continue to make my homemade dog food and use it along with Daisy & Sulley’s dry food. I do have some I & Love & You canned food I’ve snuck into their food that at least looks fresh & edible and they eat it with no issues. So disgusted with this Evanger’s product. I do not recommend it. … more

    Giant chunks!

By Lala on Jun 5, 2020

The food did not look like what the can shows. Giant chunks and the veggies were stuck to the bottom of the can! Great for big dogs but had to chop them up for mine! I gave it 3 stars cuz my dogs liked it!

    Great product. Too expensive.

    By Sarahmil1 on Mar 25, 2020

I loved Evangers for over a decade. This food is great but when the price jumped $10 over night, I just can't afford this anymore. I can't pay $42 for a case at 3 cases a month. It's more expensive than my super high quality dry food at 2 bags a month. I would rate the food 5 stars but at this price is why it's getting a 2 star rating. Sorry.

    Good choice

By Miami on Mar 9, 2019

Dog eats it all up - likes it. It should have a little less liquid.

    Love this food

By Cinnamon on Sep 9, 2018

My Chiweenie Miniature Pinscher mix was so picky about food. Many brands upset her digestive system. This product is perfect. Goodness the way it’s supposed to be. Thank you for providing a great product that shows you care.

This stew looks like people food. The dogs love it and I add it to their kibble each day. I love all of the Evanger's canned foods we have tried thus far.
