I had high hopes for this product- actually, that’s a bit of an exaggeration. I had reasonable standards for this product. I wasn’t expecting anything terrific, but I wanted what I asked for: 100% forest moss. I pulled apart some of the brick and was disappointed almost immediately. There were multiple hairs/fur fibers intertwined with the moss (of different textures and lengths but all light-colored). Stems of random plants are normally to be expected; no company is perfect. But whole sticks and stems from other random plants? Really? I guess I got what I paid for. There was even green plastic in there (which couldn’t have been from the packaging because there’s no green plastic on it).
5 star from my frog he loves it

there was more moss from this then i expected wow. my frog loves it and was perfect for the coming cold weather. half my tank is water and the other was rocks, so putting this over the top of rocks helps alot. keeps him from freezing and he can burrow into it. great price as well.
Perfect for Brazilian Rainbow Boa

This is perfect for my rainbow boa. He has several hides with different substrates so he can choose where he wants to be, and this is always his preferred spot. Helps keep the humidity high as well.

I found this item nicely packaged / compressed into a block. This was unexpected and very much appreciated. Every inch of space is needed in my apartment storage cabinet.

It does have a good amount of moss, my tortoise love it

I use it for my 3year old Redfoot tortoise. LittleFoot needs humidity for breathing but to not have it's shell soaking in water and getting shell rot. I soak this in hot h2o, spread it on the floor after Little goes to sleep, and covering the 1/2 plastic plant pot that Little sleeps under. Gives off proper humidity for LittleFoot. Zero breathing/ wheezing, dry air issues. I soak it in hot water first thing in the morning when they wake for the day
So much moss

I got this moss for our snake. I used both blocks and it covered a great portion of the cage. Would buy again.
Dusty but usable
on Sep 27, 2019
For the price it seems you get a lot of moss, however, it needs to be rinsed thoroughly before placing it in your tank. The pressing process causes a lot of tiny, unusable, dust-like pieces to be stuck within the brick. I have a ball python and to prevent the dust from getting into his heat pits I spent a lot of time rinsing and ringing out the moss. Hence, not all of the moss in the brick is usable. I recommend purchasing the loose bagged Exo Terra moss rather than the compressed brick.
