About This Item

Details

  • 35% increase of light and heat in the beam, allowing greater distances between the bulb and the basking site, giving you more setup options
  • Reptiles need UVA light to stimulate activity, encourage natural foraging and aid in digestion. Regular light bulbs do not produce UVA and lack of it can cause illness and even death.
  • Specially designed as a basking spot lamp with a tight beam so it can be precisely directed to create a basking site for thermoregulation
  • Increases ambient air temperature and stimulates breeding behavior through UVA rays
  • Can be combined with Night Heat Lamp or Infrared Basking Spot Lamp for a 24-hour cycle

Is this good for a 1month old bearded dragon?
Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2019
For Bearded Dragons up to 5 months, a basking temperature of 95 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit . A 50 watt bulb will have a temperature up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit at 8 inches from the bulb while the 75 watt bulb will have a temperature up to 97 degrees Fahrenheit.

Will the 150 watt put out 115 degree heat?
Answer by ChewyJun 07, 2018
This lamp will emit light up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, if the reptile is within 4 to 5 inches away from the bulb.

Are these safe for an older ball python? and which bulb should I get if I am only looking to raise the ambient temperature a few degrees? The tank is 18 inches high
Answer by ChewyDec 10, 2019
This lamp is suitable for reptiles and amphibians that require a basking lamp, including (but not limited to) chameleons, ball pythons, uromastyx, aquatic and non-aquatic turtles, and bearded dragons.

what will the temp be 4 ft away
Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2019
It is not advised to use this lamp more than 2 feet (24 inches) away from the basking area. At 2 feet, the 100 watt lamp will achieve a temperature close to 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

Burns out & flickers + shuts off

I’ve been struggling with this light since I bought it(150w). Decided to try using a different dome, tried both domes with other lights I had and it worked just fine. This one however continues to shut off and flicker and now will not turn back on. Extremely dangerous if this had happened while I was not home.

Decent bulb, doesn’t last

I got this bulb in 150w for my uromastyx, he loves how warm it gets and will bask all day. It was great, but I while it was on, within 5 months of installing, it burned out and exploded, almost breaking the screen lid on my tank. It gets really warm but maybe a little too warm for what the glass can handle, other bulbs I’ve tried lasted over a year so not sure why it burned out so quick. Glad I bought two and definitely switching to a new company. If you are ok with replacing the bulb at least 20 times within your reptile’s life then this is the perfect heat bulb for you, otherwise try something else.

Works Great!

Purchased this light for my bearded dragon works great! Also purchased the powersun light and I’m very disappointed worked less than a day and bulb is burnt out, either it was used or a defective item!

Turtle lamp

It broke within the first week. I had shut it off and in the morning it was not turning on. I did order another one because my turtle really liked it while it was working. Maybe that one was just bad

Heat bulb trial

So far so good I gave had it in use over a week, steady temp of 100 degrees in basking area of 10 gallon tank thermometer is in the top quarter of the tank on light side so probably closer to 90 degrees at bottom of tank. I read reviews of these bulbs burning out quickly so we will see
