About This Item

  • 35% increase of light and heat in the beam, allowing greater distances between the bulb and the basking site, giving you more setup options
  • Reptiles need UVA light to stimulate activity, encourage natural foraging and aid in digestion. Regular light bulbs do not produce UVA and lack of it can cause illness and even death.
  • Specially designed as a basking spot lamp with a tight beam so it can be precisely directed to create a basking site for thermoregulation
  • Increases ambient air temperature and stimulates breeding behavior through UVA rays
  • Can be combined with Night Heat Lamp or Infrared Basking Spot Lamp for a 24-hour cycle

What is the difference between uva and uvb lights? Vet insisted on uvb versus uva for my Russian box tortoise.
Answer by ChewyAug 07, 2017
UVB light provides reptiles with essential vitamins and aids with the ability to synthesize minerals, while UVA is more for heat sourcing.

Is this good for a 1month old bearded dragon?
Answer by ChewyOct 14, 2019
For Bearded Dragons up to 5 months, a basking temperature of 95 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit . A 50 watt bulb will have a temperature up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit at 8 inches from the bulb while the 75 watt bulb will have a temperature up to 97 degrees Fahrenheit.

Will the 150 watt put out 115 degree heat?
Answer by ChewyJun 07, 2018
This lamp will emit light up to 115 degrees Fahrenheit, if the reptile is within 4 to 5 inches away from the bulb.

what will the temp be 4 ft away
Answer by ChewyMay 20, 2019
It is not advised to use this lamp more than 2 feet (24 inches) away from the basking area. At 2 feet, the 100 watt lamp will achieve a temperature close to 77 degrees Fahrenheit.

Works Great!

Purchased this light for my bearded dragon works great! Also purchased the powersun light and I’m very disappointed worked less than a day and bulb is burnt out, either it was used or a defective item!

Turtle lamp

It broke within the first week. I had shut it off and in the morning it was not turning on. I did order another one because my turtle really liked it while it was working. Maybe that one was just bad

Heat bulb trial

So far so good I gave had it in use over a week, steady temp of 100 degrees in basking area of 10 gallon tank thermometer is in the top quarter of the tank on light side so probably closer to 90 degrees at bottom of tank. I read reviews of these bulbs burning out quickly so we will see

Poor Light

Ordered this light bulb for my rescued Bearded Dragon, please with the speedy delivery from Chewy (as always) but the bulb blew after 4 days. Not pleased with this as I needed a reliable light for my poor beardie. Would not recommend this.

Great light if only it was in stock reliably

This light is amazing and I’ve never had a problem ordering it from Chewy... when it happens to be in stock. I had it as part of my autoship so I had a couple of successful deliveries, but last autoship came without it. I wish Chewy could work on their supply line to be able to avoid these issues.

The holy grail bulb for my bearded dragon!

Oh my goodness, this is the holy grail bulb I use for my bearded dragon to bask under. I use the 150 watt. I can't begin to express how much I love this bulb. I've been using mine for three months now and it is still going strong! My beardie loves it! It keeps him warm and toasty. I tried using another brand of bulbs a while back, ones that would give him all of what he needs in one bulb, and he didn't like them, I switched back to this one and he was his old, sweet and happy self. I can't recommend the Exo Terra Intense Basking Spot Lamp enough! You've got to try these!
