Feed an average size adult cat 1 can per 2 1/2 lbs of body weight daily. Feed up to twice this amount to kittens.
When introducing a pet to a new food, we recommend a gradual change over a 10 day period. Start by feeding 90% of their old food and 10% of Fancy Feast. Each day, increase their portion of Fancy Feast by 10%, while decreasing their old food until 100% of their meal consists of their new food.
I have been feeding our 6 cats this for years. They love it and devour it. This last shipment of 3 boxes is a disaster. Cat vomit everywhere - as soon as they eat it, they are throwing up all over the house. A few of them just stopped eating it all together - sniff it and walk away. I’m switching brands now - what a shame tho - I have a LONG history of go to with this food that they all begged for. Something has definitely changed so beware. My kitties are not sensitive in anyway. Cat sniff test does not lie. A month of stepping in cat vomit is enough for me.
One of my cats ate this food and became very ill. I'm not sure if it was the cheese or the wheat gluten in the food but something made him very sick. He vomited shortly after eating this and wasn't himself all day. It took him a day to recover. I was very concerned about him and was going to call his vet, but his health began improving. I wouldn't recommend this food.
I have 3 rescue cats of varying ages and Fancy Feast with cheddar is everyone's favorite food. They'll munch around on the other FF varieties but they'll lick plates clean if the food has cheddar. I was originally concerned because I've heard dairy is bad for cats. I guess they do something to make it easier to digest. None of my cats, including one who has passed, have ever had stomach upset from it, that I can detect. They love the flavor. I love that it's high in protein, has what my cats need and it's always fresh. It contains plenty gravy, as well. My cats love lots of gravy. They eat the FF dry between meals, as well. They're all very healthy with shiny coats.
I thought I was buying my cats something they would love. Come to find out my cats are really picky eaters. This box of food is out. They eat very little of it so I gave to a friend for her cats who are not picky and they loved it. She has given me other food inexchange. It's great we can do that. Chewy you're still the best.
My cat, Baxter, goes back and forth about what foods he truly likes or even foods that he will accept. He is not consistent. I don't know what his life was like prior to his automobile accident, which necessitated amputation of one of his hind legs. I don't know what his typical diet was before that time. The shelter has no records of his previous life. I just keep trying out new foods, including pate baby food to see what he likes the best.
I usually never would consider buying my cats food with cheese in it. I don't prefer feeding them any foods that they wouldn't eat in the wild (cheese.) But after some unexpected necessary purchases, mama's wallet was a little more thin and these were on sale... The cats LOVE them. I'm definitely going to add these into rotation going forward.
My cats aren't fans of turkey or chicken, but they like the tuna version of this so I thought I would try it for something different. Unfortunately, they sniff it and walk away.
My girls love cheese so I ordered this to give them a more healthy taste of cheese with their dinner. I trust the Fancy Feast brand & my girls love all the flavors so I alternate the gravy style, cheddar cheese style & the classic pate so they get a variety.
My kitties enjoy Fancy Feast pates so I thought I’d try something new with the grilled food. This did not work for either kitty. They both turned up their nose and walked away.
My 15 year old cranky cat, Ollie, who makes a habit of sniffing his food once and walking away, actually eats Fancy Feast with Cheddar. He has even been known to clean his bowl which he rarely does with other types of food.
