    Fancy Feast Petites pate

By Kittyinct on Sep 27, 2021

My Muffy is over 20 years old and I have a lot of trouble finding wet food she will eat. For a while all she would eat was Human Baby Food!! I used to buy Sheba Perfect Portions pate but now have many left over because she won't touch it. Then a friend found these Fancy Feast petites (and they have to be pate even though her teeth are fine and she can chew just fine when she wants to which is usually part of my supper!! My only complaint is what several others mentioned. I have arthritis and cannot pull the foil top off even though I could with the Sheba she used to eat. I can't even get them off with my pliers that I keep in my silverware drawer so I have to use a sharp paring knife to My Muffy is over 20 years old and I have a lot of trouble finding wet food she will eat. I can't even get them off with my pliers that I keep in my silverware drawer so I have to use a sharp paring knife to cut around the edges making sure I'm holding it upright over the kitchen sink so I won't lose any of the juice. Then I use the back of the handle of my biggest soup spoon to get only half out at a time since she can't eat the whole amount. I am very grateful that I finally found Cat Food she will eat!! … more

Pate approved by my cat for now

By Belle on Oct 10, 2021

My older cat will ONLY eat pate’, and only some flavors. For a long time she would only eat Sheba perfect portions salmon. Suddenly she snubbed Sheba. I was given a chicken pate’ in the FF petites, and it met her standards. Thus far she will eat all the pate’ versions, though I do add additional water and stir it a bit for her. These containers can be VERY difficult to open, and compared to Sheba I was shocked at the dark color, but she seems happy with this so I am pleased.

    Needs better QA

By Kevin on Sep 11, 2021

My cats seemed to enjoy this up until today. I opened my pate portion as normal and noticed one of the portions was almost completely liquid. The smell though was awful. I was in the military and while stationed in Kandahar Afghanistan I had to drive by the base's wastewater pond. It was a awful smell! But this liquid rotten portion from this tiny Fancy Feast package? It was no comparison. It was worse...much worse. I was gagging and threw the offending package straight into the sink and began washing out bowl and spraying soap and sanitizing spray in the sink. I'm not sure the rest of the package is safe to eat now since I opened another package and both cats just sniffed it. It's a shame My cats seemed to enjoy this up until today. Always looked good and healthy from the container. Now if you'll excuse me I need to open a window because the smell from the rotten portion has now permeated my office area. Chewy was real helpful and refunded me and in all likelihood I just got a bad batch. I just think QA at Fancy Feast needs to do a better job. … more

    awful packaging

By beth on Sep 29, 2021

Our cats go bonkers for these. They honestly smell better than most cat wet food and the portion is great. However, the packaging is MISERABLE! Even my husband can barely pull the top off to get to the food. If you have arthritis, good luck. I've taken a knife to it but then the juice gets everywhere. But, we put up with it bc our cats love it and our minions rule this house. I wish they would consider a different package is the only reason it gets 4 stars.

Replacement for the small plastic trays FF used to have?

    By 1963tiger on Oct 7, 2021

Cats like it. They prefer Reveal which doesn't seem to be available even in my local supermarket anymore let alone on Chewy. So until Reveal is available, I go with what the cats will eat. Downside - food gets stuck on the trays and they are near impossible to rinse/wash. Seems to be more than 2 types as others seem to not leave heavy residue. This is more of an issue for recycling

    Good Food, terrible packaging

By Meaw on Oct 18, 2021

My indoor cats love both pate and bits in gravy, BUT A) I HAVE TO EITHER USE S KNIFE TO CUT THE LID OPEN, OR USE A PLYERS TO OPEN THE CAN LIKE THE OLD TIME SARDINE CANS, CAUSE THAT LITTLE FLAP WHICH IS MENT TO BE PULLED, EITHER BREAK'S OFF AND SPEWS OUT SOME OF THE LIQUID, (MESSY). OR THE LID THEN BREAKS HALFWAY.

    Cats love this

    By catlover on Oct 17, 2021 top1000Contributor

My 3 cats like these, and are good snacks during the day. My one cat has a kidney infection he is being treated for so has less of an appetite. But I give him one every 3 or 4 hours to make sure he is getting enough to eat. These are a perfect size, and no waste of food.

All the crew gives it 5 stars!

By KatHouse on Sep 4, 2021

I have a multi cat household, all are picky as you could imagine. But the fancy feast petites is a big hit! Not one turned there nose up from it, so I say it is a great success. They gobble up the seafood more quickly than the chicken but I now have a happy crew affiliated with the clean plate club! We did try the gravy ones as well, but my cats prefer the pate. So I say give it a try, if all my cats love it, all 14 of them, I think I hit the jackpot with this particular cat food!

Difficult to open & the content were dark & smelly

    By CareToBeChoosey on Sep 19, 2021 top500Contributor

None of my 5 indoor cats and none of the 5 outdoor strays would eat any of the flavors; one sniff, then walked away or tried to bury it. The contents were very dark and smelly; very unappealing and unappetizing. I tried mixing one of this to 2 cans of the other can food to disguise it; multiple unsuccessful attempts and ended up wasting food. Maybe the box of food was a bad batch.

    Will not buy again

    By kc21 on Oct 18, 2021

My cat has eaten Fancy Feast for years so this product seemed ideal. The food is apparently good and my cat eats it all but the packaging is impossible to open. I use pliers and the foil lid just comes to pieces. Bad container design!!!!!!
