Can an outdoor extension cord be used with this item?

For the unit to operate at optimal performance, the unit must be plugged directly into an outlet. If an extension cord must be used, the shortest possible length and industrial strength will achieve best results. Be advised any use of an extension cord will reduce power to the unit and will negatively affect the performance of the unit.
Can this be used for can food?

These bowls are designed to keep water from freezing, in cold weather. The bowl has not been designed or tested for use with wet food.

Heated bowl

Excellent bowl keeps water thawed as it should-it does freeze at -10-to be expected-originally I ordered a size too small-Chewy not only refunded my money-they let me keep the bowl-it will be donated-Chewy is an excellent company!!

DO NOT PURCHASE

This item is not 1.5 gallons, it is extremely small as others noted probably around 1.5 quarts. Do not purchase this item. I wouldn't even give them one star but had to put one to submit the review.

DON"T ORDER THIS BOWL

I tried twice to get this bowl but each time received the 1 quart instead of the 1.5 gallon. It is shipped from a 3rd party so Chewy has no control over this. Chewy was courteous and helpful and refunded my money without a problem. If you can find this bowl somewhere else, I have owned one for a few years and it actually is a good product.

Definitely not 1.5 Gal

This bowl is way smaller than 1.5 gal. Why is 1.5 gal in the product title if that's not the case.
