Answer by ChewyJan 05, 2021
This treat is made in the USA.

in what way does it help the chickens
Answer by ChewyJan 12, 2021
This treat is made of nutritious ingredients carefully selected to support good avian health, promote active foraging, and is an excellent source of protein, vitamins, minerals and probiotics. ForageCakes are intended for intermittent feeding only, not a complete feed. Use in conjunction with your favorite maintenance feed.

how old should chickens be before they get this?
Answer by ChewyApr 01, 2022
Start chicks on BabyCake or HotCake from day 3 until about 4 weeks. Cut ForageCakes into pieces and place them on water-filled (half-inch) dinner plates or saucers. This soaks into the ForageCake, dissolving its binding ingredients. Chicks will peck at the moist crumbles, learning how to forage on the material. By week 6, they won’t need the ForageCake to be moistened but it’s a good idea to rinse them off every few days. It’s important to keep in mind that as the birds peck on their ForageCake they are hardening it. Rinsing it periodically ensures that your birds will continue foraging on it even once it’s become pounded into hard pieces. When chicks have grown in their entire first plumage (around 6 weeks), and they’re being weaned into outdoor life, Farmers' Helper recommends placing out a HotCake as well as the ForageCake and cutting back on their daily maintenance ration. This is accomplished by only placing enough daily food out for your young birds that they can eat in a few hours, rather than at free access. They will have ForageCake & HotCake in front of them all day. We recommend providing whole-cooked sweet potatoes and whole raw squash for your birds to forage on as well.

Chicken treat..

My chickens love their new treat I bought them from Chewy. In fact it's almost time to buy them another.. It's winter here in MN and cold..I like to give them a little extra goodness to keep them active and their little belly's full. Thnx Chewy for offering such an array of things for every animal. One of the many reasons I love Chewy!! Thnx

My chickens don't like it

The wild birds seem to be eating it but it just sits in the feed bowls or coops of my chickens and is ignored. My chickens love treats but not this one.

chicken treat block

My girls and rooster will literally eat anything and for some reason they would not even touch this :(. I tried breaking it up into crumbles but they still didn’t budge. I’ll stick with my home made treats.

Yummy treat!

My chickens loved pecking at this and chasing it around the yard. After they pecked through the middle, it broke in half, giving them twice the fun.
