Every Farmina food is made with the best ingredients with the correct amounts of protein, fats, limited carbohydrates and advanced long life vitamins and minerals. The Natural & Delicious Grain-Free formulas are comprised of 70% animal ingredients (pre-cooking weight) and 30% vegetables, fruits, vitamins and minerals. These diets are also quite different from competing foods because they use better quality protein sources that are devoid of bone, so ash is as low as 7.80% and calcium and phosphorous levels are controlled.

Key Benefits
  • The #1 ingredient in this high protein, limited carbohydrate, and low fiber all life stage dog food is deboned chicken. There's no grains or glutens, so it's a great option for dog's with sensitives or allergies.
  • 95% of protein is from quality animal sources which makes for a low ash content. Ingredients are also fresh and never frozen for optimum nutrition.
  • It's a low glycemic formula so it's a great option for pets that need a food that won't spike blood sugar.
  • This GMO-free formula doesn't contain peas, lentils, pea protein, chickpeas, or added plants oils.
  • Natural omega fatty acids promote healthy skin and coat while added pomegranate and berries are rich in antioxidants to help fight free radicals.

  • Dr Royal recommends

I am lucky to live in Chicago where Dr Royal provides Integrative Medicine. (Look for her book “The Royal Treatment”) She advocates raw food but I have two 80# dogs and can’t afford it. She recommends two dry foods. Orijen and Farmina. So happy with it so far and happy Chewy sells it!

But when is he going to stop having loose stools from it? He loves it. I’ve been doing half and half old food and new food to break him in. The loose stools are still happening and it’s been 2 weeks.

  • A Good Dog Food Pick

    By on

I have tried multiple brands and types of dog food, but this one stood out to my dog the best. I got it because the chicken, pomegranate, and non-gmo. My dog has an easy time eating the food and is always wanting more. I don’t care for the smell of the food, but that is really the only drawback.

  • So far so good

    By on

Just recently switched over to this food. Seems to be going well. My dogs eat a combination of different food (fresh, freeze dried) so this makes up about 25-30% of each meal. Really like ingredient list. Saw others complained about it's smell. Not an issue for me or the dogs. It's probably herring oil but as I've fed other foods with fish content didn't find the aroma unusual. The kibble pieces are large, about the size of a puffed up dime. My dogs are 75#@ so that's not a problem for them. I really like there are no GMOS, chick peas, legumes etc (which seem more and more common in dry dog foods trying to bulk up protein level)and no meals in this food.

  • Great dog food

    By on

My GSD was weaned on this and is now 4 1/2 mo old. He looks anazing and his coat is so shiny. I wish Chewy would lower the price. I got it for $50 a bag elsewhere for the 26 # bag. Dont understand the $76 pricing for this. I will not spend that much!

  • Happy Husky

Since Orijen moved to US and changed their formula, it's been a lot of research and lots of kibble bought trying to get something even close to Orijens old formula. Well Farmina is excellent food. My girl loves it more than orijen. I rotate between the Lamb and Chicken. Of course, I do feed her good snacks, carrots, apples etc. Plus I use freeze dried toppers not to make her eat the farmina alone, because she will. I personally think the raw really helps in many ways. Her teeth and gums look as good as when she was about puppy. Farmina has nothing but good stuff in it. Finally my search is over. Thank you Chewy for helping me with everything. Your customer service is the best!!!

  • Dogs with GI issues

    By on

Pet store I purchased this product previously has closed. I prefer the regular one (containing grain) however it is not avail through chewy. My dogs like this food over the previous quality food I had been using for 30 years. This food was more expensive through Chewy which is odd since normally your site has quite competitive pricing.
