Description

Every Farmina food is made with the best ingredients with the correct amounts of protein, fats, limited carbohydrates and advanced long life vitamins and minerals. The Natural & Delicious high protein, 20% Ancestral Grain formulas are comprised of 60% animal ingredients (pre-cooking weight), 20% organic spelt and organic oats and 20% vegetables, fruits, vitamins and minerals. These diets are also quite different from competing foods because they use better quality protein sources that are devoid of bone, so ash is as low as 6.80% and calcium and phosphorous levels are controlled.

    Good food; cats love

    By on

I have 2 cats; a 5 year old Calico and a 1 year old Snowshoe; they both love this food and will eat tons of it if allowed. My 1 year old has developed really loose stools, so I have been mixing this food with their Nature's Variety LID and he has improved. I will not be repurchasing this due to that, but the cats love it. They are used to eating grain free, so I am not sure what the issue is with low-grain. They have tolerated the Farmina Lamb grain free well in the past.

Low grain, but plenty of meat protein

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I have my reservations with this kind of food. The grains are whole and although cats do not need oats, my cat eats this as part of his evening meal only and in small quantities. What I love is that there are a variety of meat proteins (some dehydrated) that hopefully will be significantly more than the grains it contains. It also has Chicken Protein Concentrate, a plus. I also very much favor the Selenium Yeast instead of the more controversial Sodium Selenite. It is difficult to find a cat food that doesn't have it. What I do not like is the Dried Beet Pulp. Some sources say that IF used right , this is an acceptable ingredient for fiber. Other sources say that it can give a sugar rush, diabetes I have my reservations with this kind of food. I will buy this as a rotation sporadically when I want to cut down on the selenium. Anyway, my cat absolutely adores the stuff and lately he prefers it to the dehydrated raw. So it's time to rotate foods again lest he becomes addicted, lol. … more

    Cats eat it very well!

    By on Top 500 Contributor

I have 4 cats and 1 of them is allergic to beef and chicken and none of them like fish flavored kibble so I had to find an alternative that they all would eat and this is the only food that I could find. All of my cats eat it. The reason for only 3 stars is because of the price. I wish Chewy would offer a larger size so that maybe I could save a little bit of money.

Farmina Natural & Delicious Lamb & Ancestral Low-Grain Dry Formula

    By on Top 250 Contributor

First time I have served lamb (dry) to my two Persians. The ingredients are splendid, and the consistency is exquisite! Why? Because even though it is dry food, one can easily perceive the moisture in each morsel, which is highly unusual. Although I normally purchase grain-free, I chose this item because of the type of healthful grain that is included. You cannot get better than this if the ingredients match what you are looking for. Highly recommended.

    Excellent food

    By on

I switched my kitten over from Purina (which is what she was on prior to me adopting her) to Farmina and I have seen a huge difference! She wasn't all that interested in her Purina food. Since the switch she is so excited to eat. Her energy, digestion, and coat have all improved. This food is by far the best I've found-with the best ingredients-highly recommend!!

Amazing quality, cats weren't crazy about it.

    By on

The kitties definitely liked it, and it meets all of my new standards for quality cat food, but they just weren't crazy about it. I recommend the grain free flavors from Farmina, our cats love the herring.
