it’s okay for a change of flavor

    By on

I purchased this because the Farmina is a high quality moist cat food. My girls love the dry and do very well on it . I do add supplements to their dry but I am always searching for a high end moist. I have been buying the moist chicken blend but by morning it was touched but not fully eaten... Okay let’s try another flavor... Not a fan of pork products ,even for myself, I figured I would give it a try. Alpha kitty ,no like ; other kitty did like ; human person ,no like . Why ? Too much grizzle and skin pieces which took up a 1/4 of the can . But 2nd kitty ate it. I will use up the case for her but I will not purchase again...

    Cats prefer a pate.

    By on Top 10 Contributor

Since my 3 cats love the Farmina dry food, I decided to try them on this Farmina wet food. I know that they prefer their wet food in pate but I thought it was worth a try. My cats are picky about their wet food so most don't even survive the sniff test. This food seems to be a combination of pate & small chunks with a broth that turns into a gravy when a little water is mixed into the food. As expected, one cat that dislikes wet food wouldn't touch it so no surprise there. The other two would eat the finely ground pate part and lick every bit of the broth/gravy in the bowl and off the chunks, leaving licked dry chunks in the bowl. Yes, I tried to mash up the chunks but they couldn't be fooled Since my 3 cats love the Farmina dry food, I decided to try them on this Farmina wet food. I think they would clean their bowls if this was all pate since they seemed to love the taste/smell but sadly my 6, 5 and 4 year old cats will not reconsider their overwhelming dislike of chunks in their wet food. This is a great high quality food so it still deserves 5 stars for the excellent ingredients. It even passed their ridged sniff test. Cats that don't mind chunks might really like this food. I'll have to check with Farmina to see if they make a chicken free pate version of any of their wet food. For now, it's back to the very few wet foods they view as edible. … more

Good ingredients but Enzo wouldn’t eat it.

    By on

It’s super expensive when you figure out how much you have to feed your cat every day, but I wouldn’t have minded if Enzo ate it, which he didn’t. Ingredients are great. It’s a smooth pate. Just be sure to look at the feeding instructions because I was pretty shocked to see he would’ve needed almost 4 cans a day.

    My cats hated this

    By on Top 250 Contributor

I was SO sad because my IBD cat wouldn't go near this food. I wanted to give them something "novel" because they say that's one way to stem "the runs" but not one of my four would eat it. However, they DO like the dry boar, so I guess that's something!

    Good cat food

    By on

Three of four cats really like this food. They love the dry boar, too. The fourth cat is extremely picky, he likes the dry boar, but one sniff and he walks away from the wet boar. I really like this offering as I want a wide variety of proteins for them to eat. Our cats get multiple flavors of both the can and dry food. I think Farmina has excellent quality.

    Geriatric Kitty Approved

    By on

This food earns an enthusiastic yes from my two picky 17 year old ladies. They’ve both started to loose a bit of weight over the last couple of years and it’s getting harder and harder to find food they do more than nibble at and then walk away. When I open up a can of the boar & apple, they both eat until their bowls are essentially empty. They love the Farmina dry as well. I can live with the premium price tag, but I do wish it was available in larger cans, as well as in larger cases. It’s nice to have those options when you have more than one cat.

    Picky Oldies LOVE!

    By on

Anybody who has picky kitties know the struggle of trying to find a food that they are excited about. They love farmina dry so I was hoping that my oldest girl who doesn’t eat dry at all would take to the wet food since it’s such a good food. Luckily, all three oldies absolutely love it!

4 Tails Up at my house

    By on

All four of our cats seem to love this. I do wish the per-ounce cost wasn't quite so high, but I'm happy to rotate it in sometimes.

    Clean bowl, paw approves

    By on

It looks kinda gross, smells like it could be good, sometimes watery, sometimes not, but my cat gobbles it up. She likes the lamb recipe too. For a picky cat that is allergic to chicken and despises pate, this stuff is a god send. She cleans the bowl. I give her one can of this and the herring kibble from Farmina and she is a happy cat. Gives her immediate energy and spunk, then she’s back to being a lazy senior cat. Please Farmina don’t change the recipe. My cat loves the gravy watery stuff!
