Description

Every Farmina food is made with the best ingredients with the correct amounts of protein, fats, limited carbohydrates and advanced long life vitamins and minerals. The Natural & Delicious Grain-Free formulas are comprised of 70% animal ingredients (pre-cooking weight) and 30% vegetables, fruits, vitamins and minerals. These diets are also quite different from competing foods because they use better quality protein sources that are devoid of bone, so ash is as low as 7.80% and calcium and phosphorous levels are controlled.

Key Benefits
  • The #1 ingredient in this high protein, limited carbohydrate, and low fiber all life stage dog food is herring. It's been formulated without grains or gluten and with a small kibble size, perfect for mini and small breeds.
  • 92% of protein is from quality animal sources which makes for a low ash content. Ingredients are also fresh and never frozen for optimum nutrition.
  • It's a low glycemic formula so it's a great option for pets that need a food that won't spike blood sugar.
  • This GMO-free formula doesn't contain peas, lentils, pea protein, chickpeas, or added plants oils.
  • Natural omega fatty acids promote healthy skin and coat while added pomegranate and berries are rich in antioxidants to help fight free radicals.

Actual weight listed on the bag is in kilograms.

    Farmina kibble

    By on

Have tried the fish varieties and lamb.My dog likes it more than Acana pand Taste of the Wild. Now that we can't purchase Canadian grown and produced Acana or Origin I won't use it. TOTW now includes "World Wide " ingredients with legumes from China ! As a breeder I will no longer use those products .

Good Product...but too big kibble for my dogs mouth!

    By on

This is a healthy product, however, my 5lb Maltese had trouble chewing the kibble, she is 15yrs old but in great health but she has such little teeth so she would pass on it. It is my opinion that this has beneficial ingredients for pooches health!

    Yummy in the tummy

    By on

My girl LOVES the fish flavor, and I was doubtful. But when I put it down it’s “crunch, crunch, crunch...” and the bowl is licked clean

One of the BEST Dry Foods

    By on Top 1 Contributor

While we are not a big fan of dry foods for many reasons, we at least try to get the BEST when we need to. Farmina N&D is one of the best in many ways. No GMO, quality sourced ingredients and a manufacturing process that is as good as it gets. It is also a plus that all 4 of our rescues LOVE this food.

    Sensitive tummies approved...

    By on

Biewer terriers (Yorkie-like) are known for having sensitive tummies. This food agreed with them 100%, right away. The kibble is tiny and they LOVE it! perfect stools, and no peas, no lentils, we are all very happy!

    Dogs love it

My dogs do best on grain free food. They do not do well on pea protein if it is one of the main ingredients. This Farmina food has no! peas. I tend to do a lot of research into dog foods as my first dog died as a result of the protein in the food. This was in the 1970's and was verified by a pathology report. So I take into account the protein, fat and calorie content per cup in addition to the main ingredients. Always remember that the ingredients can be changed (in quantity too) at any time---only the percent protein etc is standardized. You may notice that food prices remain relatively the same, but costs can and do vary. One time when my friends who also showed in obedience and conformation My dogs do best on grain free food. One time when my friends who also showed in obedience and conformation were checking out well known brands, we discovered one used sawdust for fiber while another used peanut hulls. So it does pay to read labels! Thank goodness Farmina is very open about the content of their foods! … more

    Tasty!

    By on

My two boys are very picky, but they have stuck with the Farmiga Herring formula. Small kibble and fantastic ingredients. No upset tummies, or loose stool. Skin and hair are healthy. Unfortunately, for me, it's got a strong fish odor. But, I can get past that since they actually eat it. I just ordered the cod formula. Hopefully they will still enjoy it and it will be less stinky for me. Otherwise, I'll go back to the herring formula.
