    Great ingredients - Great Food!

    By on

We bought our 8 week old Keeshond puppy from a breeder that was feeding puppy chow. He appeared chubby and healthy, but the first thing that I noticed when I picked him up, was his thick, wiry fur. He felt just like a sheep with coarse hair. We put him on Farmina N & D Ancestral Grain Chicken. The first day, I mixed the puppy chow with Farmina. The puppy devoured the Farmina and left all the puppy chow. He would not touch the puppy chow even though I left it in his bowl all day! The minute I fed him the Farmina, he gobbled it down. Within 3 days, his fur completely changed. It is now very soft. I will warn that initially, his poop stunk!! He never developed diarrhea, it was solid, We bought our 8 week old Keeshond puppy from a breeder that was feeding puppy chow. He is doing great on the food, healthy, energetic, and he is SOOO soft! I know Farmina is difficult to obtain at times, but I think it is worth it. The ingredients are top notch - no potatoes, peas, or chickpeas. I am a very satisfied customer! … more

    My puppy loves it

    By on

After learning about DCM, I chose to play it safe with both my puppy and my adult dog, and get away from grain free foods while they figure things out. I chose Ancestral Grains for its high quality ingredients. While transitioning my puppy, I noticed that he picked around the old food to get to this food first at every meal. He loves this food! It did take a bit of extra time to transition where stools were loose. But I gave it a little extra time and he’s doing great now.

Maybe a good quality dog food.

    By on

My two puppies would not even taste it so rather than throwing it away, I tried to feed it to the big dogs and they didn't want anything to do with it. Looks like I have a $64 bag of dog food for the garbage. When I opened the bag it smelled like decaying chicken. So disappointed.

    Wanted to like this food

    By on

Have tried to acclimate my dogs to this food for well over a month and only 1/4 c for 40-55 lb dogs as well as a now 3 month old puppy. No go, stools are adversely affected with more then 1/8 of a cup. Very disappointing.

    Italian quality dog kibble

    By on

Farmina is an excellent quality kibble. My dogs did not itch or show signs of allergies with Farmina. The kibble itself is really nice, firm and flat. My dogs would recommend this kibble compared to others!

    New Puppy Loves Farminia

    By on

I started my pup on this two days after his arrival at eight weeks. Breeder had him on Diamond puppy which gave him runny stools. Its now my second bag he’s eaten and his poops are regular and firm. He eats every morsel and is thriving according to his Vet. I didn’t comment,at first because I was giving the food time. Its now a good ten or eleven weeks and I have no complaints. My Border Collie puppy is satisfied. My only question is when to switch him to the adult formula?

    Finicky Eater Approved!

In December 2018 we got a Cavachon puppy. At 10 weeks old, she was a tiny 2 lbs. ball of fluff that was not interested in eating the food her breeder recommended. Our 6 year old Cavachon, however, was food obsessed (except when it came to kibble) and at 25 lbs., needed to loose a good 5 lbs., according to our vet. After extensive research, I was excited to find this formula that fulfilled the nutritional needs of both (my only reservation being my older dog’s history of turning her nose up to kibble). It has been 5 months since we first tried this product and I am thrilled to share that my older dog has lost the excess weight and the puppy is developing beautifully. Both dogs devour it without hesitation and I love knowing that I am providing them with the best possible nutrition. As a side note, I was both surprised and impressed that the packaging is vacuum sealed! To ensure freshness and keep vermin from access, we store the kibble in a plastic ice chest, left in a cool, dry location. It’s much less expensive and easier to access than most traditional containers and is easy to store and move (especially if it has wheels and a handle). ;D … more

    Quality vs. Accuracy

    By on

I'm certain the food is fine, but it's not what I ordered even though it's the same line of food. Disappointed with the customer service, but pleased that the pup still seems happy and thus far isn't exhibiting gastro problems in having to switch cold turkey to a relatively different food.

Finally dog food with safe grains

    By on

My Labrador puppy absolutely loves this! When the food arrived she could smell it thru the bag and turned her nose up at Fromm Large Breed puppy. Finally a safe grain dog food for large breed puppies. . Our puppy trainer recommended bc no legumes, after my vet said absolutely no grain free. I can rest a night knowing that Jolee loves Farmina large breed. She gobbles it up. I even use kibble as treats. We are thinking about trying the lamb version as well.
